Personally, I thought it was a terrible part of the movie. I felt if was a slap in the face to everyone complaining about the "razor blade" mess design of Megs in TF1... Just rediculous.
Reedman is just another concept name, like Skipjack for the Decepticon we all know as Rampage (even Starscream said so!) or Wheelbot for Demolishor. Except unlike the others, he never got a proper TF name. At this rate, Reedman's going to end up being his name for good since no toy or product uses his likeness anywhere.
Reedman Yes stealing the shard Laserbeak was that small insect in the peep hole in the hut. You could hear Robots saying Lazebreak before Laserbeak comes inside the hole. It is sad but yes that was Laserbeak
Unless there was proof I doubt it... After all you HEARD Megatron say Devastator LOUDLY I didn't hear anything about laserbeak..
It's my understanding from reading a few articles about the fx that Reedman was simply the name that Digital Domain gave to that character. That's all. In the official canon of the film it didn't have a name. And no, the insect thing was not Laserbeak.
I thought it looked like a fish. So I was expecting like a stupid Terrorcon name, or random Predacon name in the credits.
Reedman, weird name. But, if that is what they called the thing, then that is what it'll end up on all the resources sites as.
Overkill would be a very suitable name in my opinion. It fits his bladed appearance, it ties him to Ravage and Soundwave even more, and most importantly he had a dinosaur-esque appearance. So if anything I hope that he is named that!
The first movie. That dialogue Barricade had right before his fight with Bumblebee he says, in perfect English "I say, that bug that crawls through the hole in Egypt in the next movie is named Laserbeak; you know the one, right?" This same dialogue is then repeated, verbatum, by Bonecrusher during his fight with Prime. They were spoken perfectly clear, in English,and Barricade actually said it several times, but I guess everybody just glossed over that part. Its understandable.
This topic has been mentioned before. And most of the forum members are in agreement that was Lazerbeak. You could Robots in background mention Lazerbeak couple times. Go and see for yourself...Go and see the movie again and you will be for a major shock. It is sad but true that was Lazerbeak
