Fox still likes making bad movies based on properties that were popular in the 80's, and 90's? Garfield, The Chipmunks, DragonBall, and... (I kind of consider their American comic properties to be ever green)
There's a reason I started going to the movies less. It's because of garbage "retro-popular series" resurestions that Hollywood seems to think is all the rage now. I still hate them for the ABYSMAL Speed Racer and TDTESS remakes, god they really need to learn to make up original ideas again!
Y'know, I've actually heard several people say the first one was good, or tell me they liked it. I never watched it myself, but there could very well be a fanbase for it.
The first one looked terrible and I skipped it (granted, I thought the original show was terrible as well), but obviously enough people liked it that there was enough demand for a sequel. I'll just add it to the pile of movie franchises that I'm ignoring, along with Twilight, Ice Age, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Harry Potter and Star Trek. At least "Revenge of the Fallen" provides some idea of what the plot is about: Someone/thing called The Fallen will be trying to get revenge for some reason. Unless the plot of this movie revolves around squeaking, I can't imagine "Squeakquel" is providing much of an idea about the story.
I actually enjoyed the first movie. I'll put this one on Netflix for sure. I find it funny who many heads are exploding because this movie is being made. It could be worse. There is a live action Smurfs movie being made. Also, someone might decide to make a Jem and the Holograms movie staring Britney Spears. Chipmucks ain't so bad.
I enjoyed the first movie. But that trailer automatically put me off of ever wanting to see the 'squeakquel'. And I say there'll be no reason to live anymore when someone tries to make a Furby movie.
I've actually wanted to see a live action Tom and Jerry for a while. No talking animals, just good old slapstick, with a real grey cat and a real Brown mouse. If done right, it could be decent. Get some good stars to play Tom's owners too.
Awes, the Chipettes are too cute. [Yes, I know, I suck]. LMAO! "Whyyyyyyyy????!!!!" That was too hillarious! [Makes a note to watch SPN, Seasons 3 & 4).
I'm picturing a movie kinda along the lines of "Mouse Hunt" by your description. That could be pretty interesting.
