I'm done with me prime!!! wuppeee

special thanks to mampy for this one, I recently made a big mistake and mampy helped me with it, and it's almost barely there

well, here he is, you can see there are some pictures which was part of the first time I repainted him and you can see how he evolves through the paint. What I did this time round was apply those painful pin striping. The problem with the method I used was the ink never dries, so I've had to use a top coat over him to keep it there, Ive also had problems with the silver paint I used since it always comes off without a top coat so this time, I put top coat on him, I chose matt and I liked the results, my shining shimmering prime isnt that shiny anymore but he still retained the silver look I wanted. I include a comparison picture so you can see prime without the stripes, and then with the top coat and without the top coat. ^_^

I've had so much fun with this and I learned alot from radicons. how do you think he would do if I sold him? I'm kinda limited only to selling it on the philippines

I'm sorry about the bad quality of pictures (out of focus) cause I have yet to tinker with the camera phone (this was my sister's)
here he is I hope you enjoy looking at him as much as I enjoyed making him and I just LOVE looking at him I really think he comes out of the movie screen.

    Comments and criticisms please!

I have some plans for him, I still am thinking about PUP prime, is there styrene on philippines? where can I find some?

    C&C please

    thanks mate!

thank you sir, and yes I'm Filipino, got that name coz my father was a formers smoker and when I was a kid I was diagnosed with a lung problem.

I might buy myself red and blue paint later for my prime and a new and finer brush to finish Prime's face!

    thanks peeps!

The pics are a little blurry to see the details really well, but the paintjob looks pretty clean from what I can make out. Great first try I would say. :)

You too? Lumalabas na lahat ah. :lolol

Bro, with regards to brushing, are you thinning your paint with some kind of thinner? You need to be patient and apply thin layers slowly. And sometimes it depends sa type of brush you're using.

What paint are you using? Try to use Acrylics or water based paints so if you make a mistake, its easier to redo :)

Anyway, kaya mo yan and good luck

    woooo, help at last!

ummm, no I dont use thinners (yet)
and no I didn't apply thin layers slowly cause darn do they look nasty, so I guess I got a liitle impatient
I use a flat brush its numbered 1

and the paint I use is Mr.color, I know everyone's using testor's but I cant find any here in PINAS, do you know a place?

Testors is not available here in the Philippines AFAIK. Alternatives are Mr. Hobby and Tamiya acrylics, though Neutral Grounds (and a few other shops) carry Citadel/Games Workshop paints as well (but they can be pretty expensive).

If you're using acrylic paints, thin them with water and apply multiple thin coats. If you're using enamels, then use thinner. Your initial coats will not (and should not) really totally cover the surface all at once, you build up the paint on the surface gradually using thin coats.

Actually I would suggest Tamiya Acrylics or Citadel Colours. I believe these are readily available there.

Just be patient and thin the paints. By the way, I would normally have different sizes for brushes. The bigger the space to paint the wider the brush :)

thank you so much for the support

I will do try to get better pics ASAP (coz I dont have a good cam) and right now I'm sick (hopefully it's not ah1n1)

I found out in the net that Mr color is "Solvent based acrylic paint, Mr. Color is of the highest quality acrylic paint in the world. Its tone, balance, gloss and color richness are the best"

I recently bought a paint thinner but the blue and red I applied doesnt get off prime anymore:banghead: , I'll try to find a way to correct that

I also now have a GUN for my prime thought its not movie accurate there's a little bit of resemblance, gonna post that in PIC soon and hopefully with pinstripes on prime

But I still cant get over the blue and red on my prime :cry

I'm Filipino, but i'm Americanborn. Yeah my background is funny (A filipino born in America, moved to Japan for six years and started to take Spanish class {i can speak English, Japanese, little Spanish, and interpret and translate Tagalog}) What's funny is i can understand Tagalog, but only when it is spoken to me (i don't get it either) I do remember that lahat means all, but i asked my parents and my dad said "everythings coming out"
