    I liked TDK but I think the reason so many critics gave it positives reviews was because of the death of Heath Ledger, I think it was taboo for them to give it a bad review because of that. I still don't know how Star Trek got 95% on Rotten Tomatoes, I think it had way more plot holes than ROTF, First of all Nero waiting around twenty something years for Old spock. the special effects were not that great, ROTF was at least three times better than Star Trek and The Dark knights, here are my grades;

    Special Effects;

    Star Trek's Effects were just so-so, the Dark knight did not use much CGI, but the times it did, it looked very fake, I did not think Two-face's CGI was that realitic. ROTF Speaks for itself, the Forest scene was just plain EPIC

    Star Trek: 7/10
    the Dark Knight 3/10
    Revenge of the Fallen 10/10

    Score;

    this was my favorite part of ROTF, they used a few pieces from the first movie, but the new parts added like, "Prime", "Tomb of the Primes", "Matrix of leadership" and "I claim your Sun" were amazing, I loved the score but I felt it could have had one or two more new tracks. Star trek did nothing original, none of the music wowed me, The Dark Knight used the exact same music from Batman Begins, which I loved, but i don't remember hearing anything new.

    Star Trek 3/10
    the Dark knight 7/10
    Revenge of the Fallen 9/10

    Story:

    for a transformers fan, ROTF was easy to follow, i can see how a non-fan might get confused, but the story itself was fun, perfect for a popcorn action summer movie, the Story in Star Trek was kinda weak, this reboot was supposed to be about the academy days, now how much of those days did they really show? they show Kirk taking the Kobayashi Maru Test, then that's it??? Plus the whole Nero waiting 20 years for Old spock was kinda ridiculous, I would think that after 20 years the guy would not be mad anymore and would wanna get laid. The Story for the Dark Knight was good too, but again, HUGE PLOT HOLES, I thought the scene where Gordon got shot was RIDICULOUS, you're telling me that you don't see the Joker with all that makeup on in the first row dressed as a cop? Yet after the shots they stop the Mad Hatter and don't grab the guy with the screwed up face, the whole talk the Joker had with Harvey Dent about how he does not have a plan, that was kinda hypocritical, because the whole movie was about the Joker's plan, I actually think TDK had more plot holes that ROTF.

    Star Trek 7/10
    The Dark Knight 8/10
    Revenge of the Fallen 7/10

    Overall:

    Star Trek 5.7/10
    The Dark Knight 6/10
    Revenge of the Fallen 8.7/10

    to be honest, I didn't think TDK was as good as Batman Begins. It was too long and kind of full of itself. Still head and shoulders above anything Bay has done though.

    TDK bothered me because:
    -Joker planned and executed things beyond human capacity
    -The movie was boring as fuck because it was too slow for its style. I would have actually enjoyed it far more if it wasn't a Batman movie; and I mean specifically this movie alone. It was, for my tastes, simply too serious and realistic to have a protagonist who dresses in a rubber suit and bat ears. It's like having an uber serious noir detective film, but OH Wait! Here comes Underwear Man to save the day!

    ROTF bothered me because:
    -It was completely brainless, and flame me all you want, but I refuse to sit through a movie at the cinema that is brainless. I reserve those occasions for rentals made by friends, and viewed at their house, with the option of not giving a shit, and leaving the room to get something to drink. I unapologetically despise "popcorn flicks". TF1 wasn't a "popcorn flick" in my opinion.
    -For trying to cop itself out as an action movie, the action was poorly executed.

    I like TDK, but it just had so many things that bugged me, and just had too much happening in general, and I feel it got a free pass largely because of Heath Ledger. (who was a great Joker, but the movie wasn't called "The Clown Prince of Crime") Like how The Joker gets all the explosives, how he gets them into hospitals and boats with no one knowing how, despite blowing pretty much all his money on these explosives, he can still aford countless henchmen.

    I think the problem is TDK tries really hard to be real and believable, so the suspension of dibelief is smaller, wheras Transformers is far from real, so you can gloss over these little things. (I honestly didn't notice many plotholes in ROTF like people say there are aside from the twins disappearing. Are we to assume they died fighting Devs or what?)

    IMO, TDK tried too hard. Too much talking and analysing.

    Batman just rules. One of the first things I remember in life was the bat symbol. Its just such a part of my environment (Batman). I didnt really notice any plot holes in TDK though the part where Dent claimed to be Batman and Gordon's supposed death didn't seem quote 'smooth enough' if that makes any sense. But considering how awesome the movie was as a whole, if these could be considered plots holes, they are easily overlooked and excused.

    Gah, speaking of Batman, I just took him on as an RP role. o_O ... Im used to RPing [G1] Starscream (Rodimus, Springer and Galvatron for that matter too)....uhm... Bruce Wayne....this will take some getting used to. LOL

    Batmobile: check
    Bat sherkins: (sp) check
    Null rays...<_<

    As for cellphone radar? I thought it rocked. Yea it was a bit of a stretch but I felt not /totally/ unbelievable. *shrug*

    This of off topic but I gotta know where you got your sig pic from. Is there a larger version of it I could get? Thanks ^_^

    1. There are other writers involved in ROTF not in ST.

    2. There are no sex jokes in ST.

    3. Most of ST's most glaring problems are centered around the ice planet and Spock Prime. People are more willing to forgive plot holes that give them Leonard Nimoy.

    4. ROTF is an absolute mess of a script from top to bottom. It is filled with characters and events that have no real purpose in the film (including, ironically, the Fallen), and is constantly jerry rigging its mythology, working in new characters and plot devices for little purpose beyond extending the film a little further.

    When you give equal weight to "story", score and FX, and ignore acting, character development, editing, and general coherence, you are going to give high scores to a lot of crap.

    You forgot:

    Oh, and I'm going to give the macguffin fragment to my girlfriend, not tell you or anyone else about it, then mention it one more time in the film before forgetting about it completely.

    And I actually enjoyed the film. I just could not ever in good conscience recommend it to anyone who is not an adult (or at least teen) TF fan, and even that would be a conditional recommendation.

    Just wanted this to get more visibility, so the people at TFW can see how we're looked at by our own members . . .

    The bomb inside the guy is not a plot hole. The fact that this bomb kills/incapacitates EVERYONE in the building besides the Joker and the Accountant is, IMO.

    I couldn't understand the mummerings of Christian Bale throughout the entire movie.

    I had to watch it again with subtitles later on.
