    Point taken.

I would have thought that they'd always have a little more say though...since they ARE their own company, instead of being owned by a corporation themselves. But darned if I can ever completely understand the grand scheme of things theatrical or broadcasted.

Oh...but Marvel was who insisted that Venom be in Spider-Man 3, right? So that's a reverse example of them having power over the studio, no?

(BTW is it me or were the black costume being "narm" and Venom being Bane-d [BAAAAAAAAANE! BOOOOOOOMB!] both Take Thats on Sam Raimi's part, as he didn't want to use the character in the first place?)

I won't argue that the stuff Marvel had most of the control over has been great, though...Iron Man, duh. Though Incredible Hulk was no slouch either. I'd like to see more, more, more :)  And the whole Avengers thing is brilliant. (Creatively, of course. But also imagine the box set of all the movies plus the Avengers movie they could eventually sell. Genius! Seriously.)

I just think that a new edit would help the film tremendously, remove a lot the crude humor, change the dialog for some of the robots, and add a couple more robot scenes to connect the plot and give us more robot action.

i just saw rotf, and i was pretty damn dissappointed. i'm really glad i didn't fight the masses to go see it opening night.

the 'cons were weak. i'm really unhappy with devastator, he was cool looking, but you could've completely removed him from the movie and it wouldn't have made a difference. not to mention he was getting worked over by mudflap. the fallen was a nancy as well, he's supposed to be some bad m-fer, but did he even hit prime once? i don't think he even gave prime a menacing look.

the good to me was that the twins were hilarious, jetfire was amazing, and megan fox is hot.

They signed a deal with the devil. While it's their properties, I believe each studio is leasing each property from them (x-men, spiderman, etc.). So while they may have a little say, it's still in the studio's hands. So they may have suggested that venom be in Spiderman 3 (I have no clue if this is the case or not), they still didn't have much control over how he was portrayed in the movie.

They have a lot more movies in development. Iron Man II (obviously), Thor, Captain America, The Avengers, Ant-Man, Nick Fury, The Runaways and Sub-mariner. If they can pull off a good Sub-Mariner movie, I'd trust them with my first born child's life   I guess we'll see how the rest turn out, but I think they are going to be a little more careful with their own properties than any studio would. You're not going to see a Batman and Robin out of them.

So, back to my original point, I would have loved to have seen Hasbro rekindle their relationship with Marvel and let them work their magic. They know and understand the importance of story and strong characters. They could also work their way up to a nice GI Joe/Transformers crossover :D

With Hasbro selling their soul to the studios (How in the HELL did Michael Bay swindle them out of 8% of the toy sales???????), we're getting movies that are getting destroyed critically and what appears to be outright CRAP for GI Joe. Oh, what could have been. :(

avi arad forced venom, and marvel have far less say in their licensed movies than you think. it's actually less than little say.

Let's hope. I've said it before and I'll say it again. This movie is not finished. Plain and simple.

Oh, come now. Even Ranter polls should display some semblance of impartiality.

*sigh* I don't understand why after 3 years some people are still going on about the designs and still twisting off emotionally about Bay. What's the point?

And Marvel would have no idea what to do with the TF property.

Uh, the hyperbole aside, at the end of the day the producers do need to step up and offer Bay more structure.

Yes, yes and Murphy said that he would like TF to be another James Bond-durable franchise. I'm all for that. ROTF diverted a bit from that goal.

Be careful what you wish for.

And Coolyfett FTW. Thanks for sounding reasonable.
