Is it actually true? I could swear that Geewunner has been an insult for years going back as far as Armada where fans of that line insulted members of the G1 crowd who didn't like the toys for failing to keep with the times. In fact, pretty much any time a fan doesn't like something new the word Geewunner seems to pop up. I don't think that it was coined with the Bayverse (then again, I could be wrong).

And uhm YEAAAHHH 'Geewunner' was spawned by bayformer fans....Armada had nothing to do with it. Ive been in the fandon online heavily since around 2000. That term was never seen till the movieboard was created promoting (and scamming) to the fans the great 'G1' movie project that Bay promptly reversed because he doesn't know any better....

'G1' fan was a term before that, that started around BW but its insulting variation was all the Brownshirts doing.....

Can you please stop that already with the generalizations? I have called you ZERO names. All I want to talk about is what people percieve as the plot holes in the movie, which IMO are not plot holes in most cases.

I have called no one names. Terms are generalized on the G1 fans, the table has turned even just briefly and now thats not ok? Explain why its ok one way and not the other.

Hey, I would love if no one called anyone any names or insulted their intelligence for not liking something they do and until both sides start doing this it will continue. But I honestly do not think the 'geewunners' should be the ones to stop first. We as a whole never did anything other then have the courage to speak up on what hollywood was/is making...the ones that liked it took it from there.

I felt the review I used to start this thread was great. It highlighted some of the very fundamental problems with this movie that for some of us just boggles the mind that people could enjoy something like that. Is wanting to see robots fighting that important to put up with everything thats being slapped with it? And from there its spun off because of my one initial comment. So be it...it hasnt become a flame war and I dont want it to. I want everyone to step back and really see all of this that has been going on ever since day one of shooting for the first movie, in this fandom. It has to stop!!!!!!! There is nothing at all in this fandom to bring us ALL together as fans of Transformers.....nothing and this fandom has been splintered from the moment G1 started...Marvel vs Sunbow...and as the years go by it gets worse and worse...then along came Bay and its just degraded ever since at warp speed. It has to stop. If the kaka getting flung back finally at the main ones history has proven (ie bayfans and to some extent, yes, BW fans) is what will make it stop, so be it.

This fandom HAS to pull its sh!t together. If we can put aside the 'I just like the toys and fighting robots only' vs 'I just like the characters and story' if we can put the animosity aside and come together somewheres in between it all...what this and the fandom could become would be amazing.... but I guess Im a dreamer....

All I want to say is that aside from a few trolls, nobody, and I do mean NOBODY, has a problem with people who simply don't like the live action movies. I don't care what your persecution complex is telling you, I nor anybody else has any kind of vendetta with people who just don't like the movies.

The problem is with people who aren't just satisfied with disliking the movie and feel they have to go all "nerd rage" about it, as if a Hollywood action movie is worth getting morally offended by. It's not enough to just like or not like something, they feel like they have to let everybody know just how much they hate it, and if you try to call them on their bullshit, suddenly you're a "brownshirt" Bay fanboy who wants to beat critics into submission.

For fucks sake, IT'S A GODDAMN HOLLYWOOD ACTION MOVIE! If you really think that it's something worth getting enraged by, then I seriously suggest going outside once in awhile, meeting new people, and trying to have a life outside of the internet!

I'm not sure what you're getting at here. Firstly, I didn't call you (or condone) anything like that, so I'm not sure why you're bringing it up with me. Secondly, those insults are not nearly as extreme as the Nazi-influenced "brownshirts". Third, though I haven't many of the threads in this forum, "ignorant" and "stupid" I'm seeing leveled more often at people who like the movie as opposed to people who don't like it.

Well then I stand corrected. Great page.... shows alot more then most realize too.... though the first *I* ever heard it, was said as a withering flame at ANY person who disliked the movie whether it be for raped childhood or for more legitimate reasons....

Now, when at least some of the movie fans can open their eyes and SEE that not ALL the fans that dislike the movie are NOT in the 'raped childhood category' then maybe things can start changing. I have seen a couple that don't think that way here but I still see alot of the standard just mentioned.

I don't have one thank you but you decided for me that I did...beeeecause I don't like the movie, right? Or because as a person, Im sick and tired of all the FIGHTING that goes in in this fandom and for what? NOTHING and I've decided to speak up about it? And this gives me a persecution complex?

Again you assume. Again, that might be true for some fans against the movie but it doesn't fly with me and several other people [at least] that I know. My reasons for not liking the movies I would like to think are fairly simple. There was no rhyme or reason to any of the upgrades (I was never against up grading (ie I could care less if Prime had flames )). It was inconsistent and smacks of apparent ignorance on the part of the designers. Nothing was thought out beforehand and in just two movies it appears to be contradicting itself cannon wise. The scripts suck donkeyballs to be honest. The director is more interested in explosions then telling a story. The producer is only interested in the BO. *shrug* it just...sucks IMO all around. The total lack of source material knowledge and just sheer basic respect for the franchise is nowhere to be found. But what adds the icing on the cake is to watch others and myself (in the past) get slammed because we dare say we don't like them. And regardless of the whys the come back is always the 'raped your childhood' and /GeeWunner/ in equal measure when one can not apply to me and the other I am ('G1' fan) but thats NOT why *I* dont like the movies (well I almost thought 2 was going to be good and then found out otherwise).

This coming from a toy collector....and no, I haven't bought a TF toy in several years now so dont throw it back at me. I had a nice G1 collection when they first came out. Last TF I got and it was a gift was the MP SS...the rest are slowly being sold off. I was always more interested in stuff like posters and the cards and the PVCs and etc...the toys just dont do much for me..sorry..Im one of those sad(?) fans I suppose that liked the characters and the story more..

I never said you called me those names. I was making a general reference to having these names flung at me since this whole movie project began and lurking around and seeing thrown at others. Have I seen them thrown out at bayfans? Not near as much as the other way around...sorry, I haven't.

And you don't need to apologize about getting my gender mixed up. Us female fans are out there but I suppose we aren't that many still. And if you are curious by any chance, Im not a SNAD or a Fluffy TF fan. But to tell the truth it is why I generally dont reveal my gender. I have been assumed in the past for being some sort of mary sue or whatever solely because of my gender. Hey the guys do, do that and I honestly cant say I blame them with some of the female fandom shockers Ive stumbled across...errrr... Why not just state that the Allspark has opposite powers before and after the passing of Haley's comet? Before it passes it has the ability to kill. Once it passes, it magically changes to a giver of life? Things don't go from having the ability to kill to having the ability to bring back to life.
