I just saw the movie and it was excellent. I wanted to note that I believe that Devastator is his own robot and not made up of 6 different Decepticons.
I believe this because the Transformers that supposedly make up Devastator are all seen fighting while he is climbing the pyramid. Therefore I believe that the likes of Rampage,Long Haul,etcetra are just their own seperate Transformer and have no part of Devastator.

Let me know your thoughts.

Yes there were constructioncs with robot modes that wernt apart of devy

then there were the ones that made devy....... which im starting to think are 11 all up

4 for the legs 4 for the arms and 3 for the torso and head oh and the balls too

 

That's how I like to think of it. Rather than Devastator being made up of several different Constructicons, he's just a single entity made up of "whatever construction vehicles are around". (Of course, that doesn't explain HOW the construction vehicles get there >_>)

And it makes it more justifiable to buy the big Devastator toy that's coming out soon

Well.

A fine theory, and we are all entitled to our own and our opinions, however I believe that this one is kind of an established "fact" that Devs is a combiner made of "at least" 5 to 7 or more constructicons at any given time. The fact that Longhall, Rampage, Scavenger, Mixmaster and Demolisher are seen apart from Devs at concurrent points in the movie (and Demolisher is dead already) goes to the point that there are multiples of each 'bot, kind of like the Insecticons from G1. Many clones. In theory you could have had more than one Devs running around.

For further "proof" on the matter, see the box of the $100 Devs, made of the different constructicons that just happen to have the same name as those that are already see and combine. It does make sense to me of why we have a $100 Devs toy without individual transforming robots: It's screen accurate. The individual limbs are never seen in robot mode together before combining in that particular scene.

 

I understand that he is made up of different vehicles but none of those vehicles have personalities or robot modes. They just form the arms,legs,body and head of the one robot Devastator.

 

doesnt explain the scene where high tower is shown as the upper left arm and a scrapper clone makes the lower left arm. people are also saying 2 long hauls make up the legs.

there are at least 9 that make up devy in that scene i think 11 all up imho

Yes, and unfortunately this was the MAIN reason I went to see it on IMAX, to see the Constructicons in robot mode, then combine to form Devs.  darn. Overall, the movie was still great!

So next time I vote for Devastator to me in a movie, I will let Bay/Co. to be more specific.



CONSTRUCTICONS FOR TF3!!

 

These vehicles have no names in the movie. The names are from the toys.
This was how Devastator was formed in the movie.
The 2 guys come to the construction site.
You see Hightower and Long Haul are parked there.
The 2 guys stand near the parked Long Haul.
Comes Overload, Mixmaster and Scrapper in a line and Scavenger is right behind them.
You see them parked in a line and you have :
Overload, Mixmaster, Scrapper and Hightower. Scavenger is behind them.
Comes another Long Haul and Rampage. So now you have all 7 vehicles.
It is now revealed that there is another Scrapper (8th vehicle) transforming to the right of Mixmaster so you have :
Overload, Scrapper (8th vehicle), Mixmaster, Scrapper, Hightower. Scavenger is behind Mixmaster.
Scavenger pulls in Scrapper (8th vehicle) and Mixmaster, then he pulls in Hightower.
Parked Long Haul (9th vehicle) transforms also so the the 2 guys standing beside him run away.
In the next shot, the right green leg and right arm are already there so you don't really see how Overload and the extra Long Haul (9th vehicle) were used.
Devastator stands and he already has legs and Hightower is the left arm. The Scrapper that used to be beside Hightower is now used as the left hand.
So there were at least 9 vehicles used. There were at least 2 Scrapper clones and 2 Long Haul clones.
According to the creators of the movie, Devastator can take more than 7 vehicles. I don't know what is the maximum number of vehicles that can be used to form Devastator.
In the movie, Long Haul is 2x longer than Rampage so it is not possible to just use 1 Long Haul and 1 Rampage for the legs.
Long Haul is a giant robot in the movie compared to Mixmaster, Rampage and Scrapper.
Scavenger body is about 2x bigger than Mixmaster. The Scavenger scoop and scoop arm is also quite big.

 

Yes but just because Rampage sucked them in ain before they changed into robots DOES NOT mean that they are just vehicles that combine to form one big robot it IS the 6-7 clones real ones etc. that make them up you can even hear Megatron say his name after they form...It wouldn't make sense to have them form just a vehicle from their protoform state just to make a big robot that are after all individuals robots (We just didn't get to see them transform into ones) just like we know Soundwave is a robot as well but you never seee him TF at all... 

 

Exactly....Devastator is a stand alone robot. The names for the toys are for the other figures who are their own sperate personalities and do not combine to form Devastator.

 

What about the possibility Devastator is actually a creation of the Constructicons? A construct they created using their own bodies as the blueprint? Just a theory of mine, because one thing I found really odd was when the Twins parked right next to the "Long Haul/Mixmaster vehicles", and they did nothing... Now any self respecting Con would of transformed and started kicking their ass... Unless they were mindless parts of a higher being/robot.

It would also explain his docile almost animal like behaviour as well, since it's quite clear he lacks the intelligence of a "normal" Transformer.

 

yeah i think he's just a gigantic robot that had to break into separate vehicles since there was no vehicle that large that he could scan

 

Jazz stayed in car mode in the first movie when Bumblebee got his legs blown off. So you can't judge the character by the fact he just sat there when he could have transformed. It'd producer stupidity.

 

But jazz is an autobot protector of life.

 

Devs was such a let down. killed off to easy and didnt even kill an autobot.

 

i swear i saw one of those bonecrusher army vehicles drive in as he was combining too. i think it was a distant shot though.

 

You'd not know it by that scene. It's as if he doesn't even care.

 

Ughh, I wish they spent a bit more time trying to sort out Devastator/ Constructicons.
