Bay should only be around for directing the action and the cars driving. EVERYTHING else should be handled by a guy who actually makes films. Bay does not make films, he makes extended adverts.

Y'know, it's not like directors are the only ones that take home all the money. There's the producer (They get the bigger checks), the co-producers, the studio people that earn back the budget and a little bonus extra (After they pay the actors, crew, tech, etc.), the special effects studio, etc. (I'm not saying composers because they only earn 2% of all profits)

No, Bay's movies being hits pave the way for more artless hacks who make films with no substance, because for some unfathomable reason, they're considered good. Movies like this being a smash do not inspire people to do better, they convince them that it's okay.

It's a major cashcow, yes, but it's still a "children's property", and Bay didn't really make it seem like a mature and worthy undertaking.

I didn't say no director would want to touch it. I said I didn't believe any director better than Bay would want to touch it. There's worse big-budget directors who'd be ecstatic to take over (Sommers, Emmerich). But the big-budget directors who are better than Bay are either already booked for the next couple of years or already doing what they want.

    Yes.

Let's have a director who treats the transformers (beyond Prime) as actual characters and not a supporting cast for the military. Bay's done his thing. A new direction is needed.

Keep Bay. I really like what he's done with the first and second movies.

Keep Bay. He's the perfect man for the job, especially when it comes to Transformers.

Trying to turn TF into Shakespearean material is more hilarious than the lame toilet humor in both films.

On a movie based about toys?! That's madness!

So, having characters who don't act as complete d***s, or appearing for more than 5 seconds is Shakespearean material?

Oh shit someone played the "real" fan card.

Get over yourself guy, you may feel some sense of uniqueness because you don't care for Bayformers but that doesn't make you anymore more of a real Transformer fan just because doors are being opened for a larger audience then the original cartoon ever could.

Focusing on the background characters who didn't have much dialog/story is like obsessing over Wheeljack and Ironhide in the '86 animated film.

Bay has also made the franchise focus on the humans way too much. I prefer when the humans fighting the Decepticons amounted to throwing wrenches at them, and then running away and letting the Autobots fight them. Not "WE'RE THE MILTARY OO-RAH GO GO GO GET DOWN EXPLOSION YEE HAW F$$K YEAH!!!".

So Ironhide and Ratchet are background characters, while Leo and Simmons are foreground, eh?

    Get Bay the hell out.

In this installment, yes. Because thirty seconds of Ironhide and Ratchet probably costs more than Leo and Simmons' salaries for the entire film combined. You think a different director is magically going to make animating and rendering giant CGI robots cost a fraction of what they do now?
