The decepticons want to guarantee a future for their race and the autobots want to hunt down and brutally masacre (litteraly pull limb from limb) all decepticons without asking questions. Who are the bad guys?

 

My guess is the Geneva Convention never happened in Cybertron or maybe jails were never invented on Cybertron. I am sure we can all save a lot of money by not having jails. Or maybe Sam forgot to tell the Autobots about the excellent facilities in Guantanamo Bay.

I think for Bayformers, both Autobots and Decepticons are warriors, but Autobots wanted to protect sentinel beings while Decepticons just want to dominant, even if it means the destruction of a planet. But both sides are very capable of destruction, not just Decepticons.

 

Prime called the Autobots to come to seek home on Earth. If the Cons are stupid enought to come and get killed, it´s their fault.

America is looked at as being good guys, but we caused Japen to have guys with 7 penises. How is going to explain that to his girl friend? America did it.

 

My guess is the Decepticons and Autobots had a disagreement over something and the Fallen killed all the Primes except for Optimus and the Decepticons tried to kill all the Autobots, so the Autobots decided to fight back to avoid the Autobots becoming extinct. Jetfire and Wheelie did give up their old murderous ways and sort of became Autobots again. The Fallen was the first Decepticon and all Decepticons used to be Autobots.

 

Agreed. I realize the Transformers are at war. But Movieverse Prime is is missing something that was always present in previous incarnation of the character--that part of him that was compassionate and ironically, human.

 

Maybe Optimus has to kill all the Decepticons to prevent them from laying more bad eggs.

 

Crimenies, I'm not about to read 7 pages, but in the rotf prequel bb, ironehide and other autobots were actualy a part of the cybertronian armed forces, they simply didn't agree with where megatron was leading them and joined into primes forces. As for weaponry that bots that were a part of primes archeological crew, I got nuthing for ya there other than over a few millenia they simply adapted in terms of mentality which would in turn make them take arms.

 

I must admit though that Prime in ROTF does seem to have become more brutal from the first movie. But it's so hard pleasing us fans, in the first movie we all complained that Prime was too weak and now in ROTF, we're starting to complain that he's too violent.

You know what it all really comes down to tho'? People just wanna see giant robots battling it out with each other. And if that's how it's gonna be, i'd rather have Prime be the one dishing out the beatings.

I do agree tho' that in future, it's gonna be more important to start building on characterisations for the robots. We need to see some of the life and soul of Optimus in what he says, how he acts and the decisions he makes and examples of the virtues and qualities that makes him a leader. Flashy fight scenes, though always great to watch, can surely only take you so far with these movies. All the fighting becomes spiritless and without feeling when we are not allowed to care a little bit at least for the combatants involved.

 

I wouldn't mind having the Autobots killing Decpeticons. It's badass how they just kill them and let none live.

 

Yes, no doubt, the Autobots were really ruthless this time around.. Plenty of robot violence going around such as Sideways splitting in two, Grindor's face torn apart, Ravage being pulled apart and Bumblebee pulling Ravage's spinal cord (I was surprised Ravage even had a spinal cord, for a robot of coz..) and lastly Prime ripping The Fallen's face... Definite violence right there.... And notice all of em were close ups... Unlike in the first movie..

With all that, I feel some of the Autobots were underused.. Especially Ratchet... I don't have to mention Jolt, he was not utilized well in my opinion..

Prime's a bit eager to martyr the whole shebang, isn't he?

But it is a war, after all, and part of war is taking away your enemy's ability to fight by, among other means, killing his soldiers.

But really, we just have to accept the fact that no one involved with the film put any complex thought into these matters.

It is a Michael Baysplosion, popcorn-fest film and if we want nuance we will never find it here.

So long as we accept that, we can enjoy the spectacle. No problem. But we just need to remember that there's going to be precious little under the surface in this new incarnation of the franchise.

That is why Hasbro will end up making another cartoon and why we have IDW comics.

Well, my biggest problem is that, we mostly see Autobots destroying Decepticons, but not the other way around. It seems like Bay is afraid to let Decepticons win, so Autobots have the ones who dished out attacks and win fights, most of the time.

 

well, to be fair, jetfire is dead, and its quite possible that ironhide sideswipe and two arceebots are too

 

LMAO....yeah, you're right. Prime should have definitely tried to talk to The Fallen as he's trying to destroy the goddamn sun. I mean, what a hot-head that Prime is.
