Am I the only one that doesn't care for the Autobots being badass? Yes this is a war but I just think the new generation of fans that will see this film won't like characters for who they are but more of how badass they are. I don't know but to me that kind of bugs me, I don't like to see Prime be a total badass(not that I want him to get his ass kicked) I like to see him as a hero for the new generation of fans to come

I somewhat agree. It does not seem that the decepticons can beat them. The autobots clearly dominate the 'Cons in most of the battles. I know Prime is like a hero, but taking on 3 Deceptions(Megs included) for a while before he himself is harmed shows something.

I only say this because I am Decepticon biased. But the autobots do kill the Decepticons in some pretty brutal ways.

to quote my sister as she came out of the movie: "how come there are so many more decepticons than autobots and they are so much bigger, but they get beaten so easily?"

You know what I don't get? In move one, Prime gets his ass kicked by Megs, but now that Megs is back and should be stronger after absorbing the Allspark pieces, Prime can take on Megs AND Starscream and Grindor. Where's the logic in that?

see iam a decepticon guy :D :D  but i must admit that prime is kickass but also the fact that he takes on 3 D-cons kinda makes the D-cons look weak like in the first movie. mind u those are starscream megatron and blackout/grindor. and from what a friend of mine told me that lives in UK who went to the screening he said on the tha part of the fight the D-cons didnt looks to powerful LOL but o well i just hope we get to kill some autobots. i wont say all of them but most of them :D

I think the issue has a lot to do with the portrayal of the Bots and Cons, and how it seems to be switched from the "normal" one.

Namely, in the movie-verse the Bots seem to be the "Brute force, battle-hardened warriors" and the Cons are the "Tactical, quick thinking strategists".

    Think about it.

Ironhide, Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, Sideswipe... When stuff happens, they pop out their swords and guns and jump right into "Beat the slag out of you" mode. Their policy when dealing with the enemy seems to be, shoot/punch/slash first and ask questions if there's anyone left online. They're the armed and dangerous brawlers.

On the other hand Cons like Barricade, Frenzy, Ravage, Soundwave, Sideways and Starscream slink around in the background, spying, scheming and gathering info. Their fighting style lives up to their name. They wait in plain sight, striking and then immediately retreating back into hiding, and if need be, running if it looks like a battle isn't going well. They're the Spies and Scouts.

It's backwards from the standard roles the two factions typically take.

Because before Megs had just woken up and hadn't grabbed a cup of coffee yet.
But I do agree with TranstechCat. I've always liked the idea that back on Cybertron, the Autobots were more of the working class or stay at home moms, and therefore definately more peaceful. The Cons were obviously the military bots designed for fighting and kicking major tailpipe. So it doesn't really make sense that the peace-loving bots like Prime and Bumblebee would shoot a Con at point blank range in cold blood, or rip out a spine or decapitate someone. Those are characteristics of a Decepticon.
I also agree that the Autobot deaths are less violent (which also makes no sense). Bonecrusher got decapitated, Blackout got his crotch shot up, Brawl got an arm cut off and blown to hell, now it appears Sideways gets cut in half. And what did the Autobots get? ONE Autobot got ripped cleanly in half. That's it. From what we've seen it should appear that the Autobots are really the evil ones. But heck, I don't know, maybe the Autobots are tired of taking crap from the Cons and have finally gone postal. Who can really say?

i think the bots just got fed up, and decided "S**T it, UR SLAG, DECEPTI-JUNK!"
or something along those lines ^_^

Prime was being modest in TF1. He didn't want to kill Megatron. He even says "You left me no choice, brother". In ROTF, he busts out with 2 swords; and I think it's safe to assume he could have always done that, but the situation was never as desperate as it was in ROTF. Also, BB getting his legs blown off in TF1 is worse than Screamer getting his arm lopped off in ROTF. Jazz dies in TF1. Blackout, Scorponok, and Brawl take a hell of a beating in TF1; and Scorponok survives. So really, I think it's mostly balanced, with the Decepticons still being presented as physically superior.

Er given the context and final outcome of that fight scene I would say your logic is correct but argument flawed.

As for the whoop ass on decepticons at the end, there is good reason for that explained in the film, but I wont post spoilers.
