Not to mention the shipping cost added to the price would devastate (Pun intended) your wallet. I'm surprised these bastards are still open. I think there was an issue with the Jurassic Park 3 toys being like over $20 bucks while you could get them at KB Toys for like $7 over at a JPtoys. I think it was JP or some other forum. How are they still in business? Who would be that desperate for a toy to pay more than 50% of it's original price? Plus why are some figures more expensive than others of the same size class? Why is Skids $15 while Bumblebee is $18? WHY THE FLYING FUCK IS RAVAGE $22!?They probably are scalpers, buying a mass of toys from a store that sells them cheap (Toys R Us sells them for like $11) and jack up the prices. I know that a store has the right to sell their goods at a price they desire, but they completely shit on that rule and use it to their advantage.

 

If they're the outfit I think they are, I ordered stuff from them on eBay 2 years ago that never arrived and the money was never refunded (and so far as I know, eBay did shit about it when I reported them).

Without a doubt the Big Blue Dong was quite a topic among the Watchmen community.

 

It was much worse two years ago (about 97%), but that was when negative feedback was often withheld because sellers could give you "vindictive feedback." Back then, almost everyone ran over 99%, and anything under 98 was a warning sign. That was one of the reason's eBay changed its rating system, and I imagine it might have gotten TR more on the ball.

It would also be instructive to know what the negative feedback was for. In my case, this was when Sigma 6 was ending and they were selling off their figures. Collectors had managed to drive up the prices for a number of them, but I got them (or not) from TR for very little, and I suspect less than they planned to sell them for.

If those 300 or so negative feedbacks are all from people who won on low bids, that would signify a consistent and dishonest business practice, as opposed to just normal SNAFUs.

 

If they're selling Deluxes for $2 above retail, they most likely ordered them through a distributor or Hasbro. Even as deranged as some scalpers can get, I don't think anyone'd bother reselling toys they picked up in a store for only a $2 markup. In fact, if KB Toys was still around, I'm pretty sure they'd be charging $14.99 or more anyway. Ravage, Mudflap & BB's higher prices are probably since they're the newest & they figure demand will justify it.

Not saying I'd buy any of these there, just saying I don't think the prices are outrageous or anything.

 

The Voyagers are extremely overpriced. frigging over 30 bucks for Demolisher, which is the worst of the ROTF line. As if I wanna spend that much.

But like I said about JP3 figures when they were all availble (Not just for pre-order) some were at $12, $15, $22, and $27!

Plus all the figures in the ROTF line on their site are for pre-order, there is no reason for them to price figures at different prices when they are the same size class. Look at the Animated and Classics. $40 for Onslaugh! Bullshit!

$30 for classics ss, ramjet/skywarp for $50, and a DELUXE sw-tf emperor palpatine for $50. i remember ~7 years ago i would just browse through online stores for megaman stuff (i was really into that) and their prices were sky high back then too

if people set prices so high that almost no one in their right mind will buy it, there's no profit made

 

After failing to sell the toys at a high price, the store has to sell it lower than purchase price. In the end the company looses money.

 

I've been in their store a few times but that was a couple of years ago. They price everything completely on hype and popularity. I actually picked up a few model kits from there for really cheap because they weren't very popular.

 

keep in mind they've been in bussness for a long time, where as you the thrifty shopper isn't going to pay 50$ for a semi rare 20$ toy, there are others out there who don't care if they pay a few bucks more to get something right now. for some people that 10$ is of very little consequence, so places like that ,that the average buyer doens't buy from will have things in stock longer. so win for them.

a good part of busness, if you are willing to sit on a product for a long time the value is most likely going to go up.

You thought that was bad, i was going to post the link to Amazon's listing of LEGENDS Cosmos for $43.00 jajajajajajajajajajajaja!!!, but i guess is not that funny since i went to the website to copy the link to post it... and it's gone, i just hope that no one actually paid that much+shipping for that tiny figure (no matter how awsome the figure is, it wasn't worth $43.00; they also said they had ONE left)

 

selling something for 13 times the original value may be justifiable for collector/vintage products, but when the product in question is only 3 years old that's just dumb
