it says in the article that their source was a website whose source was IMDB. fail.

MBay says a lot of stuff he doesn't mean. he didn't want to do the first one or the second one, but they got made.

The next director better not be a ******ed nerd sissy.

That if he really quits, money buckets can change any mind.

    THANK YOU!!

Also, I too call BS on this, but if Bay really is out I vote Robert Zemeckis. Then we would get in IMAX entirely in 3D!

Hopefully they won't pull a Batman Forever and hire Joel Schumacher to direct the next one.

Few month ago he already said, that he will take a break. And in the interview he didnt said he will quit, he das just said, that he is done with tf for now. On his offical site he already gave a date for TF3.

    This.

People throw the term "director" around as if it were to mean the person responsible for every filmmaking decision. Even if Bay were to leave (and he won't, because this franchise has elevated him far beyond his previous films in terms of public consciousness) the possible 3rd installation would maintain the same overall style. Prime wouldn't suddenly become a simple flattened semi, now would the poop jokes wouldn't go away.

I think if anybody else were to be considered for the job it would be somebody like Mc. G. Or maybe we'll luck out and get Uwe Boll.

Even if Bay goes away only a mentally challenged fellow would bet on a reboot instead.

Don't confuse everyone with facts ;)  Not that it'll matter since the haters will still hate, the lovers will still love and everyone else will just sit back and say "we'll see"

Well as long as it doesn't take the horrible dive that the 3rd and 4th batman did back in the 90's, I would be ok with a new director. I like to see fresh ideas in a movie timeline while not disturbing TOO much of movieverse for the particular fiction. Heck I think it would be cool to go back and tell the story of the great war before coming to earth, but that probably wouldn't sell well to the general public...

JJ Abrams would just give more screen time to the human actors since that's what he's best at. You wouldn't see the Transformers till the 3rd part of the movie (Cloverfield) and you'd see more of the same attractive young hotties. He also tends to like shaky cam (Cloverfield) and absurd amount of Lens flares. (Star Trek)

James Cameron? He'd wouldn't release his Transformers till 2020 when everything including popcorn was in 3D. His male leading actor would have to sport the same Leonardo, Edward furlong hair cut he likes so much.
