I'm kind of disappointed. Whereas the score from the first movie was actually a musical score (that I loved), this one is just a lot of odd, electronica, synthesized noises. It's all techno and... fake. I can barely hear any of the instrumentals. I hate to say it, I really do, but thumbs down, Jablonsky.
what i mean is for anyone who has seen ROTF, is the actual track where the autobots arrive in ROTF on this score? EDIT: I guess not. I didn't hear anything that would fit, nor does a title suggest so. I'm with Lennox on this one, I guess I'll have to see the visuals along with the score, and maybe it will grow on me. So far the only one I really liked was Prime..I got excited hearing it and can't wait to see what will be on screen while this plays. The rest was just ok, although I did love whenever the autobots arrival music cameoed in. I'm also a little pissed the tformers theme has never been on either score. I'm talking about the music in the first movie where Prime meets up with bumble bee on the desert road in part 1, and also plays halfway through the ROTF trailer.
EPIC !!! An Amazing score, I haven't seen the film yet, going on Friday but OMG I'm now seriously hyped up for this (37 years old and just as excited as my Daughter LOL) Only difference is that I've loved Transformers for 25 years, she's just oming up 11 so got a bit of catching up to the old man to do LOL, The score was uplifting, moving, and all in all just AWESOME!!! Roll on the 19th !!!!! Tys
Huh? The music that plays during those scenes is part of the Scorponok theme from the first movie's score.
For those of you who have the whole 14 tracks: I hate you all. I'm stuck with listening to the 30 second samples on Amazon, and what I hear already is SICK beyond belief in the best way possible! NEST, The Fallen's Arrival, and Matrix of Leadership all sound awesome. ARRRGH! WHY can't you release it early iTunes?! WHY?!?!?
I've listen to the whole score once (just starting the second round now), but I must confess that it feels kinda short in comparison with the first movie score. Although the first is a little repetitive, I found it more appealing even after hearing it for the 100000th time! It is still a good score, but the first one was GREAT!

Just to back up my early statement, there are several songs from the second score ("Forest Battle", "Matrix of Leadership", "I Claim Your Sun", and "I Rise You Fall") that use remixes of some songs from the first score. Although it is true that some melody continuity is desirable (to maintain the coherence between both scores) this is clearly a sign of how fantastic the first score was!
Actually after listening to the disc a 2nd time this evening I heard a part of TF1's "Arrival to Earth" filling out the last 30 seconds of "Matrix of Leadership"... also in a few other cues. Also, I really like how Jablonsky subtly changed Prime's theme... it's still very reminiscent of his theme from TF1, but somehow grown... or more experienced or something. Eh? That part of the film was tracked with music from "Scorponok"... which is in fact on the cd for TF1. Also, it's not really the TF theme for the film anyway. There's a big difference between remixing cues from one score for another and recording new material that contains motives from a previous score.
I'm surprised this hasn't been asked yet, but it was said many months ago that Jablonsky would be mixing in the original cartoon theme with this movie's score since they didn't let him do it last time. So is it true? Do we hear the original theme in some shape or form???
NOPE. Somehow, I was disappointed and I really didn't cross my fingers. How hard is it to throw it in there?
I have been a long standing fan of Zimmers work and Jablonsky's now since the first TF film. Epic, astounding and I can't wait for opening day.
As much as I love Hans and co. They really need to quit with the damn synth/techno junk. The score doesn't sound that huge. It sounds like Tyler Bates helped out.
the score sounds good so far, but i havent heard of one track that really shines like the Scorponok Song....
