Because half of the people that post this stuff under the name 'CGI' have no fucking clue what CGI means, see everybody use the word, try to be smart too and use it. The other half is blind, so it's not their fault they mistake art for 3d renders.
yeah, they're just idiots. thankfully the person who started the thread at least knows what they are talking about.
What an absolute fucking mess. All the bike sister designs scream SW prequel rejects. What a disaster.
Remember CGI is Computer Generated Imagery. It is incedibly unlikely that the designer used pen and paper but rather used a a tablet. A tablet creates emulates the functionality of physical drawing but through a computer assisted by a software such as Photoshop but can leave unfinished edges that exist on that image of the bot. So the image is not painted or drawn in that sense. Take a look http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ReKHWXLf0g Also It is wrong to call people idiots. Corrected Thanks to Diglaut
CGI means Computer Generated Imagery, NOT Image. There is a difference between the two, and it's not just the 'r' and the 'y'. From the beginning, CGI has quickly become the word to indicate computer generated effects, in other words: 3D rendering and other fake special effects for media generated with the help of a computer. Digital artwork is reffered to as..digitial artwork. Digital paintings. Concept art (when it's used for..concept). Etc. Etc. Never CGI. "Hey guys, look what an awesome CGI I made!". No. Does this qualify as evidence? Maybe calling them idiots is a bit harsh? Half of it is for good fun, and the other half..well, I'm sorry, but I do think it's a pretty silly thing to do. If somebody doesn't know what it is (or doesn't take the time to tale a good look at it), it's better to use a more common description than to just assume it's a certain fancy word... edit : I see you have posted 'EVIDENCE" in the mean time. Which isn't evidence. it's a link to a youtube video of somebody doing a speedpaint of Bumblebee (and a pretty kickass one, too!). It's not evidence to claim it is 'cgi'. It's just an example of somebody using computer tools such as a tablet and Photoshop to create a digital painting, which is, like I said, not cgi. I'll raise you a wikipedia page for some evidence of my own: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer-generated_imagery Granted, wikipedia can be edited so not 100% trustworthy, but I don't think one would need to doubt this article.
No hard feelings I hope. Sorry if somebody takes offense to what I said earlier, I apologize. Haven't even commented on the actual picture itself...whoops. I think this is the best looking of the 3 bike bots when it comes to parts placement!
Does anybody know besides me that Spoiler all three motorcycles are named arcee (in fact, each motorcycle is just one part of Arcee), and that the only reason they are given different names is for Hasbro to sell toys ?
yeah i thought that was wierd when i read the comic they gave out at Botcon... good observation... thought that was a mistake.. interesting

those two names should not be used in the same sentence unless they are followed by the name Prepticon H
HEADS. I said HEADS. Death Lock said her HEAD looks the most feminine, but the only difference between the 3 heads are the colors. Otherwise, they have the exact same CG model of HEAD.
