You know, I also see his "satellite mode" as a spaceship, and vice-versa... Kinda looks better seen that way.

Thanks for the review.....definitely enjoyed it much. The first pic had me had me going back to it looking at the package, thinking something is strange. Just to realize that the stupid sticker is different in the front. :redface2:

Glad you guys like it. The sticker ? I'm on the Euro side of the big pond indeed.

Yeah, the clavicle hinges... I didn't see it at first either. Then I looked closer and it hit me ; but turning them...the hinges are really tight. You may use a little bit of force turning them.

Usually I'm not too fond of the super fragmented shapes of movie Cybertronian
altmodes, but this Soundwave dude is just recognizable enough as a possible human made satellite. I'm still on the fence about Voyager Megatron though..

    RotF Movie Preview Soundwave

Got this yesterday. Neat little dude he is. I'm going to review this tiny triple-changer's 3 modes before anything else.

    Robot mode:

Robot mode. Other than being WAY too tiny, I like it. Nice paint apps, looks really neat. 9/10

    Jet mode:

Jet mode. The instructions call it satelite mode, but it looks more like a jet, so I shall call it a jet. It's really cool. Even better than Megatron's jet mode from TF1! I really like it. Pretty neat. Just a bit loose. 9/10

    Satelite Mode:

The instructions call this jet mode. It looks more like a satelite, so I call it a satelite. Pretty neat. Really looks like a Cybertronian satelite. As with jet mode, he is a bit loose, though. 9/10

    Overall:
Great figure. Other than being somewhat loose and too tiny, he's epic. I highly reccomend him. 8/10

Still, thanks for the review. It was nicely done! Just picked him up today and will greatly appreciate the clavicle advice.

I was a little diappointed with Soundwave at first but it's grown on me. The alt modes and kibble in robot mode are really what is a putoff about it to me. I really hope Soundwave gets a better toy later on down the road, but for what it is, it looks pretty cool sitting on the shelf in robot mode.

I sometimes deploy the shoulder wings so the blue and red discs point forward like some kind of sonic burst attack.

    *pew! pew!* :)

If I ever got him I'd paint him all white with yellow panel lines and eyes.

I like him a lot more than I was expecting, given how much everyone's been saying he sucks. The robot mode is really neat and very poseable; I especially like how the various panels on the back and arms can be manipulated. Satellite mode is a bit iffy and the robot arms don't lock in place as securely as I'd like, but it's serviceable. I like the cruiser mode a lot and will probably keep that as his main alternate mode. I've only opened four of my RotF Deluxes so far (Rampage, Chromia and Sideswipe being the others), but Soundwave is my second-favorite, behind Sideswipe.

His robot mode is pretty nice, but the alt modes aren't too great. I don't like how nothing locks in place in the alt modes and his legs keep falling off.

This dude's awesome, you can do about 20 thousand things with his wings & panels.

Been having a blast with his ship mode, can pretty much make any jet shape you want.
Satelite mode, ok whatever. Bot mode is also panel tastic. Screw the official way, fold this guy the way you want.

Ah, Transtech Soundwave.....good luck figuring out what his "Manufacturer's Suggested Alt-Mode" is without the instruction manual.

Soundwave is ok, definitely needs more paint apps. An obligatory Soundblaster repaint, mostly black with silver and red apps, would probably do the mold better justice.

Kinda iffy on the figure myself...not a must-have. but if you're a sucker for fan-modes, Soundwave is practically a bottomless pit of them...

I blame this guy for me having a relapse into buying toys even though I'm pushing 30! :)

I never got G1 Soundwave as a kid and so I tried to make up for it by getting this one.

He's grown on me as time has gone on. I'm still somewhat hoping for a Legends Ravage to pair up with him. But he's a lot of fun to mess around with.

Pretty much every opinion has been said in the thread already, but the only thing I can add is, I think Hasbro even got the transformation wrong on the packaging.

We now know what SW looks like in Satellite mode as he's the nav menu on the UK official site. In case any haven't seen him, he looks like this:

    You can get pretty close to this with the toy by doing this;

Apologies for the terrible quality, I took it with my phone.

I think this is how he was supposed to look in Sat mode all along. Especially as there doesn't seem to be any need for the shoulder flaps to fan out for any of the 'official' transformations, but they're used for this one. I haven't really tried to get him to look like he does in the insert, the image is too small, but that's probably possible also.

In the back of the package, it reads: "Canon converts to blade". What canon converts to what blade?
