This year's MechaCon in Lafayette, LA will be hosting both David Kaye and Gary Chalk.

Kaye was announced a little while back but Chalk was recently announced. It was also mentioned that Gary Chalk will be performing an unplugged concert for dinner attendees.

The coolest thing about Garry's guitar playing is that he plays the guitar inverted. Being a lefty, he actually learned how to play on a right-handed guitar by turning it upside-down.

It's quite the impressive sight to see. And he sounds amazing! ^.^

Yeah, that's the part that sucks. Couldn't be avoided, though. It was a facility availability thing. Sorry.

Well he was on the bridge of the Earth ship Korolev when it was destroyed battling the Ori at P3Y-229. Being Russia's only ship, that didn't do too well for his record. And after all the effort they put into forcing Stargate Command to give them their own ship....

 

"formal/semi formal dinner"? Am I missing something here? Why have a formal dinner at a nerd convention? What's the "formal" attire? Cosplay with a tie? Geez, I laughed a good 5 minutes when I read that.

What next? "Please RSVP, ASAP, for the annual Quantum Astrophysicists Ballroom Gala - featuring Stephen Hawkings on the violin"? hehehe
