what s tat jetFire WHF the Robot Design look dam horrible and its 2 belong to AuTobot cant Michale desing a good robot for the character JEtfir.........
What?! Slightly more robot fighting in the IMAX version? Great... now I'll have to drive all the way to Ypsilanti to an IMAX theater...
They may have changed things since I left (I'm sure a few things have changed)- but I was referring more to the theme park over all than the Imax there specifically. In fact when I was there T2 3d was still playing and it was easily the highlight of the day.
Well this blows. The nearest IMAX to me is a couple hours away in Chattanooga, and even then I don't think they show regular movies. Just educational stuff relating to the Tennessee Aquarium down the road. The U.S Space and Rocket Center, down the road from me here in Huntsville has an IMAX too, but all they show is space and NASA flicks I believe. Very lame decision here. Show the same flick to everybody.
Let us know how bad the screen door/square-pixel effect is. Given the price being slightly less for true-IMAX (though higher gas + time), I'm avoiding/waiting on LieMAX after my experience w/ it & Star Trek. Was kinda that way on the sneak-peek @ BotCon... but still freakin' cool & the sound... Same here - midnight madness @ local theater, digital showing (not LieMAX tho) - then 3 days later, true-IMAX and hour away - oh yeah - at the Air & Space Annex where Jetfire - I mean the SR-71 - is kept I'll give my $ to the real IMAX screen. I'll let the numbers speak for themselves - perhaps then they'll stop charging $5 extra for LieMAX - which didn't look any better than a well-focused digital presentation at my local theater. As for hunting down - it was my 4th showing, & 1st IMAX experience. I found it worth it. for a 1st viewing of TF tho - it was a tad busier due to the clarity. I'm just hoping my mom doesn't get sick from the clarity & being "close" to the screen There's a tool... argh... I can't recall where - but it lists the specs for each IMAX theater - and if it says "digital" for the format, it's "LieMAX"; vs real IMAX.... found it!! BIG MOVIE ZONE Looks like Amsterdam has 1 that will be showing RoTF in true-IMAX Hey - you know every "true fan" sees movies more than once Hehe - now is it 5 min for fake or real IMAX?
Hi. I checked several websites. Seems IMAX Amsterdam just has a standard screen measurement (nothing big, just medium), also they use the cheapest stuff available to an official IMAX screen. It is the "MPX projector 15/70" which means it even analog (just digital sound)!! Too bad. I stick to any standard digital cinema (2k). Not worth hour-long rides. Denny
Oh? BMZ says this Amsterdam IMAX: ArenA Boulevard 600 Amsterdam, Zuid-Oost 1101 DS The Netherlands has 1570 screen format - same as the A&S Annex in Chantilly. And vs the other fake-MAX that's 5-10min from my home, which comes up as "digital" format.
Cool! I prepurchased my ticket to the Boeing IMAX Theater at the Seattle Center last night, so this is a definite double-bonus!
Nope. Absolute certainty extra IMAX scenes will not make the DVD after the last exclusive IMAX scenes were held and never released on DVD. I would guess some day we'll get a "definitive collection" of the movies with all the extra scenes compiled in long after all the regular releases have been put out several times to make sure we all buy them in hopes we finally are getting the extra scenes. Things like this, the different versions of movies here, there, everywhere, are really putting me off the entire Hollywood brigade. I like movies, but I want to see the same movie whether I'm watching it on the big screen, on PPV, on IMAX, on DVD, on BluRay, or whatever. Stop making every release of the movie a different version. And "exclusive to version" scenes are REALLY ridiculous.
dammit i called the IMAX theatres i purchases presales for (amc south barrington near chicago) and their screen is from what the lady said (2 1/2 stories) which is approx 28 ft tall..i was hoping to get one of those gigantor ones thats like 50 or 70 ft =(
Hahahahaha! God I love living within spitting distance of the Space and Rocket center Sure, there are no decent art museums within 100 miles of me, and the booze tax makes everything pricier...but Damn if Huntsville doesn't have a real IMAX. ...and as far as Size....Size is not the point of IMAX. Shape is the point of IMAX. *dances around thread happily* Sure it'll be 15 bucks, but I can spend that to see Devastator as big as my house And as an aside...I love Micheal Bay so much After all the shit the TF community has put him through, I really love the way he's come back to bite all the haters "Nope, no Megatron. Not at all. Just ignore the toys, and the footage, and the credits. There is No Megatron, I swear!" Here's hoping the fanatic fringe gets the point and stops fragging with him...
