I'm involved in a project to make custom heads/faces for the TFA seekers - I already plan to repaint a Starscream or Sunstorm to Ramjet (now that we know TC will be released I'll wait for him) - but I'm dubious as to whether I should repaint a Voyager sized Dirge? And I heard rumors about Thrust existing as a plan... Basically, if someone could verify for me that Dirge and Thrust were planned by Wyatt or Eric, or even ask Derrick on his blog, I'd be gratefull! Dirge we know represents Starscream's greed (although whether this was just Hasbro's idea or the TFA staff's I don't know), and I heard rumors that Thrust was going to represent Starscream's rage element... Also, color scheme for Thrust - if he exists - would be great. I wonder if we would/will see him and Dirge in the Allspark Almanach.
All the names should be officially confirmed once the AllSpark Almanac is released in August, so if no one can confirm beforehand, it's only a matter of time.
Darn, August is still a long way to go... Is there any way to pre-order the Almanach from somewhere OTHER then Amazon? Those idiots do not accept Paypal (they are promoting their own silly paypal-wannabe system that no-one is going to use).
The seekers were never named in the show for voice actor union reasons. If they had named Skywarp, Thundercracker, Sunstorm, etc., they'd have to pay Tom Kenny a lot more for his work. But because they were not named and considered "background" characters, they got around it. Toy-wise, they can do whatever they want.
Actually, I think Dirge was meant to represent greed and gluttony together, since they are pretty similar.
if that was so... then what do the others represent? Thundercracker-egotism Skywarp-cowardice Thrust- Gluttony Dirge-greed Sunstorm- idol worship female-who-has-yet-to-be-named aka "Susan"-...lust? ...i think i just creeped myself out... time for cake, and to get my mind off this... topic... love the idea of Thrust and Dirge being Greed and Gluttony though.
Slipstream is obviously the part of Starscream that is tsundere for the guy in charge. That's why all her rage and aggression is targetted at Starscream alone. She's the Helga Pataki (Hey, Arnold!) of the Seekers. And now you are left with the thought of what that says about Starscream himself....
Starscream clone - Transformers Wiki Back on topic, I'd suggest Sunstorm as the base for Ramjet. As for Thrust and Dirge, I haven't heard anything other then fan speculation.
Anyone who talks to Wyatt "on daily basis" (IE - on his blog - I wrote some mails to him but never gotten a response) could get some confirmation on Thrust and Dirge? Btw, I think Slipstream is Starscream's practical side. She's easily the most competent of the clones, adept in battle and planning, and she knows when to change sides. Gluttony is kinda like Greed, IMHO, at least I don't think he deserves a separate clone. Anger/Rage is another aspect of Starscream that we have seen a lot, though - he's prone to quick outbursts of rage at times and becomes totally irrational, such as when he kept attacking Megatron (and getting killed) over and over, or when he attacks BB for interrupting his speech... THis also led to his death in Endgame, when he angrily flew to Earth to see Megatron pay for what he did to him. Also - anyone else thinks Starscream is pretty much still alive, but -as the allspark - dispersed in the form of his clones? All the aspects of his personality are there. His clones could probably bring him back if they united their spark fragments - of course, none of them would want that to happen, as none were too fond of the original Starscream (well except for Sunstorm but he can't help his toadying). This'd make for an interesting story - maybe Starscream was prepared for his death and arranged for Lockdown to capture his clones and bring him back... (Damn that makes me even sadder the show is over... )
Except that all the clones embody negative aspects, and if she WERE a postivie aspect, she wouldn't have been as quick to snap "Don't ask."
I am totally with you. who knows... they might be planning some sor t of continuation series like "Transformers Animated: Reign of Optimus" (omg that sounded so bad...i'm sorry XDDDD) but you get what i mean. I'd like to see them continue with the style and ideas. Heck it was the first thing in 10 years that sounded original to me. its what the fans wanted to see. fav autobots getting humanized, character death (i cried when prowl died, then more when i realized starscream wasn't coming back on that episode) autobots going bad, and Prime becoming magnus. that was awesome. they need to come to their senses and continue it. btw, total win on starscreams clones coming together to recreate him. I would give everyone on this forum cybercupcakes (i'm not hunting down ppl to give them real ones... i'm sure that falls under some stalking law) if that happened)
