Animated Rodimus Prime Action Figure Slight Name Change?

You know, I'm so glad to see Rodimus in his action figure form, along with his futuristic muscle car mode, which I really do like the most. However, when producing the action figure, why did Hasbro name Rodimus' rank as a Minor and not a Prime, as it was in the cartoon?

 

Rodimus Prime is a truck. I would say a voyager but there is a deluxe prime & deluxe sentinel prime (though a lot of people hate sentinel). Plus he wasn't called prime in animated. If Rodimus was a truck then it would likely be voyager & called Rodimus Prime.

 

An argument for Rodimus Minor is that in transwarped he was never mentioned as Rodimus Prime only referred to as Rodimus. But I do agree that the toy should be named Rodimus Prime as Derrick Wyatt has described him in his blogs and in his tech spec but that just nitpicking for me, just release the toy soon.

 

Hasbro said that they don't want to generalize the Prime term apparently, using it only in extra necessary cases like Sentinel.

 

Yeah I read that.... When you use Prime as a rank albeit a mid level rank there's bound to be a decent amount of Prime's, so its going to be generalize in that sense. But I understand Hasbro's perspective on the usage of Prime. Just sounds better as Rodimus Prime and not Minor. At the end of the day, released him. LOL

 

Because Rodimus Prime, is a generalization? Rodimus Prime has been around since 1986

 

just give me the toy please as it looks fantastic.

 

I know its been around for that long. In animated, Prime is use as a rank, Sentinel Prime, Optimus Prime, and so fort. So Prime in that sense is going to be generalize, military hierarchy.

 

Only now? I've been unnerved by him from the beginning.

 

This. I understand not wanting to generalize the Prime name but how is not giving Rodimus, an official martrix bearer, his proper name a generalization, even if this is a different cannon. If Hasbro is only considers Optimus being worthy of being called a Prime in any cannon these days I'm very unhappy. (Sentinel, unworthy as he is in this cannon, also shares the name of a matrix bearer too, Optimus's predecessor, so he should be allowed to be a Prime in any cannon too.)

Interesting to note that Minor was Sentinel's rank when he taught at the academy so maybe it's Minor - Prime - Magnus, in the TFA rank for Autobots.

 

I think they are producing him in deluxe... but if he is a Voyager, I'd get him. he's Rodimus for Primus sakes! Rodimus! One of the most awesome Autobots of all time! And that bow! unbelievable! the essence of awesomeness! i love his design!!!! (hugs screen with picture of him)
