So when Prowl showed up on shelves I bought 2 to get this guy started. Started it, got caught up in a bazillion projects and then Jazzs' started popping up everywhere so I back burnered it.
Figured what the hell, finish it and post it so here ya go.
The head is Prowls with his red wings cut off, reversed and glued between the head and the clear blue visor. I cut the "v" shape into the face to fit Movie Jazzs' visor into it. I wanted his eyes to have the glow effect. Made a cast of G1 Jazzs gun with a larger peg.
COMPLETELY retooled the front end so it wouldnt resemble the others in any way. Built up the headlamps and added lenses from a model kit and filled in the resessed area. Added sideview mirrors and scoops on the sides, as well as removed the spoiler for an IDW look. Did some parts swapping with Silverstreak to avoid painting under the torso, Smokescreens thighs and modded a G1 Jazz codpiece over the existing. I think it really gives off a G1 feel.
I know there are assloads of these out there but I think most of them differ, with little touches that differentiate each artist.

This is a fantastic custom! I love how the car mode doesn't look like Prowl's anymore, and the changes for the robot mode are great. Awesome job dude. :thumb

That's exactly how I feel about any custom. We all see something cool and want it for our collection. I do enjoy seeing the different variations on Jazz though. Excellent work on this, spoonman. I love the new front end and the small mods really work out great. Can you still transform this with those shin guards or do they need to be removed? Just curious--been working on my own on and off for almost a year and I know there isn't much clearance room in that area.

    Keep up the great work!

OMG that is amazing! Wow. Ummm. Wow. His alt mode looks like a perfect modernization of his G1 self. I really want to make a custom Jazz (or just buy yours if at all possible) now, I just need to pick up a prowl or smokescreen or something. Dude I love this so much. Are you going to give him his signture numbers and stuff?

Love it! One of the best! Alt mode looks a little weird though, looks a bit like a VW Baja bug, which isnt a bad thing but not very Jazzy. Looks great as his chest in bot mode though, and the legs are great too, howd you make em work?

You do have to remove the shin guards and then swap his legs 'round.
I really wanted his bot mode to scream Jazz. So I sacrificed a bit.
I originally had a normal transformation with added louvers to the rear window to set him apart from Prowl. It looked really cool, but not the direction I wanted to go in. Check it out here:

I did however save those legs to be used on my upcoming Classics Windcharger custom.

I remember seeing that when you posted it--that first comment under your initial one is still fresh on my mind. lol

It's cool that you did what you wanted to do, bro. It looks great and it really does scream "Jazz". It has a very G1 look to it--especially in bot mode. Do the doors fold back or did you remove them on the bot mode? Sometimes we all sacrifice a bit to achieve exactly what we want. Again, excellent work, man.

    No sacrifice. No victory.

    This is certainly a victory.
