If you could pick one sub-plot, i.e: Ratchet's past, Blackarachnia, Allspark shards...

And replace it with another that you feel would help the show's story, what would that be?

I would take the Constructicons' stroy out and do more flashbacks to the Great War where we learn about the pasts of Ultra Magnus and Megatron, and maybe a buh-zillion other characters, and of course we learn about how the war started.

I love seeing history and how it connects to the future. I still may get my wish if they make a DVD movie about the Great War! :p :thumb  Fingers crossed!

I would eliminate the Constructicons because, as much as I enjoy watching them, thier subplot never came to a conclusion (Devastator) and I am sure you could have filled in thier parts with other characters and the three Constructicon-centric episodes would be just enough to somehow explain how the war started.

And you wouldn't even have to do more flashback episodes. Maybe Prime feels like helping with Sari's education and since he is a history buff, he shows her old war documentaries from Cybertron. And maybe one more episode of the original Elite Guard story where we hear Magnus talking about the past or something.

    Aaaaaaaah. I am dream.

I would take out Blackarachnia's role. I mean, I loved BW as much as the next guy (well, MORE than the next guy, probably), and thought we should have more beast TFs in the series, but honestly she didn't really do much in this series. She joined the Decepticons out of spite, left as soon as Megatron appeared dead and never really even talked to another Decepticon for the rest of the course of the series. She was always obsessed on "getting rid of the organic" every single time we see her, and her character never developed beyond that. The only contribution she made to the overall plot was putting an end to the whole "Wasp-Waspinator" arc and giving Sentinel and Optimus a reason to hate each other, but that could have been accomplished via other, quicker means (i.e., Elita-One actually died on that planet, Meltdown used Waspinator as an experiment, etc.). Plus, her character never really got all that interesting, to me. At least the Constructicons had a lot of funny moments.

And then I would replace it with more of Sari's backstory/character development/ultimate purpose. 'Cause dang it, that's where the abrupt cancellation of the show REALLY shortchanged things. I'd be semi-happy with the ending if it wasn't for that.

I would take out the Constructicons altogether and replace it with a conclusion between Optimus Prime and Sentinel Prime, more so than an angry-looking Sentinel standing and watching a battle-damaged Optimus Prime holding all the Decepticons in shackles.

This. I would of also had tied off the story arc between Optimus and Blarachnia, either through her death, or her being reformed thanks to Prime.

I would have ditched the Constructicons and put in a plot where Hound or Kup came to earth to whip the team into shape and stuck around.

Shorten: BA's story (though keep Along Came A Spider in tact), the Constructicons (really, WTF did Dirt Boss actually add?)

Remove: Dinobots - went nowhere, really underused; Waspinator - same, shame

Absolutely destroy/delete the repetitive storyline whereby a one-shot thing threatens Detroit, and the Autobots hold it off: Rock Lords, police droids, all human enemies (Slow-Mo and Prof Princess, aside), headmaster-Starscream, etc...
(How many times in Transwarped, alone, did this happen?)

Replace with: The Starscream clones, more Lockdown, more Blitzwing and Lugnut, a greater combined Decepticon army - Soundwave, Cyclonus, etc. join up with Megatron

I would have ditched the Constucticons too, and fleshed out Team Strika/Rodimus some more.

    Remove:
    • Blackarachnia's story. Didn't really go anywhere... wasn't any resolve one way or another. Seemed like she joined the Decepticons out of spit and then never had another thing to do with them after Megatron was presumed dead (even after he was resurrected... she should have known right?). Also, as stated before, her quest to become fully robotic again never had a conclusion of any kind... either by her coming to terms with herself or destroying herself in her quest. So, given that... I definitely feel that her story should be removed.
    • Constructicons: Mix and Scrap were alright, but they didn't really add much to the story overall (Bulkhead still had to build the Spacebridge, which was supposed to be their big contribution to the Decepticon cause). And, Dirt Boss was... dumb. No, seriously, he added nothing to the overall story and he didn't even add to the Constructicon subplot either. I think if they had more time to get to Devastator it might have been better (I remember someone saying that they wanted to introduce the full team a little at a time and then get to Devastator around Season Four or Five, but that seems to be really short sighted when you have no idea if you're going to go past a second season). So, yeah, needs to go too.
    • Dinobots: As cool as the characters are they were underused and never much more than a 'random not-so-villain villain of the day. Very underused and they were even 'Worfed' at one point just to show how strong Safeguard was. Yeah, pointless.
    • Human Villains: As neat as some of them were... I frankly found the episodes in which they stared to add nothing to the overall plot of the show and were more like... Sailor Moon monster of the day episodes. I think that, if they hadn't focused on so many of these kinds of episodes in the first season, they could have expanded the overall story better with the actual Transformers.
    • SS, Megs & OS being 'lost in space': This just reeked of 'we need to get these characters out of the way ASAP for the rest of the season. Frankly, I think it would have been better if the Autobots had found OS and needed to find a way to reactivate him (without Sari's key) and that having SS & Megatron form a temporary alliance to deal with the Autobots on Earth while hinting at the creation of the Lugnut Supremes (they could have been building these for awhile... like they were building the Spacebridge throughout most of S2). Perhaps they could have found OS for a little bit (before the Autobots retrieve him) and that's how they could have got OS's schematics at that point.

    Change:
    • Elita-One: She was necessary (before her becoming Blackarachnia), because of the wedge her accident drove between Optimus and Sentinel and it's affect on Optimus' future. Frankly, I'd have had her died and that be that.
    • Wasp: I liked Wasp and I loved his subplot where he was framed and then wanted revenge on Bumblebee. However, I felt that his Transformation into Wasp was nothing more than fanwank and pointless to the overall plot. Frankly, I think that they should have had Wasp and BB make amends (Wasp would have forgiven BB if he asked... Waspinator wouldn't). I thought Wasp was a great homage to Waspinator, but it didn't need to go full blown into Waspinator.
    • Jetfire & Jetstorm: The twins, for supposedly being such a strong defense against the Decepticons, needed more screen time. I'd have created a rivalry between them and the Starscream Clones. It would have made for great story telling.
    • SS Clones: All in all they were underused and needed more fleshing out. Would have been a lot cooler if they, as I said before, ended up having a rivalry with the Jet Twins. Also, I think I would have removed Ramjet & Sunstorm and just kept Thundercracker, Skywarp & Slipstream as the only clones (or just dropped TC & SW... considering they never appeared again after Transwarped).
    • Rodimus: Instead of having him have a whole team to himself (that served nothing more than a large fanwank battle)... I think giving him a more expanded role in the series would have been good. Perhaps send him to Earth so that he can help whip the Earth Autobots into shape and combat the Decepticon forces there.
    • Strika, Blackout & Cyclonus: Don't think the other two where necessary, but I think that these three deserved more screen time. Strika should have been reunited with Megatron & Lugnut (especially given her status) and I think it would have been cool to have Blackout and Cyclonus as her subordinates when the three arrive on Earth. It also would have upped the anti on the Earth battlefront as well if these three powerful Decepticons joined with the Earth bound Decepticons.

    Add:
    • Optimus & Sentinel: There really needed to be a conclusion to their rivalry. I don't think Sentinel ever really forgave Optimus, but I think that more than just Sentinel's scowl was needed at the end. I think the truth coming out of who was really responsible for the events back on the 'spider planet' would have been a good way to resolve the issue and have it end with Optimus being reinstated in the Elite Guard and Sentinel being removed from active duty. Maybe even have him become the leader of a repair crew.
    • Ultra Magnus: He needed to be shown recovering in the very least. Maybe even stepping down as Magnus and, after reinstating Optimus Prime into the Elite Guard... suggesting him to be the new Magnus (which, I assume would be held to an overall electoral vote given what little we know of the Autobot hierarchy).

I'll echo other's ideas at ditching the Constructicons in favour of more history.

I also don't think Soundwave or Wreck Gar added enough to justify their appearances - their episodes could have been used for more OP/SP or Sari backstories. I'm sure Weird Al could have voiced some other character (although it would have lost the '86 movie link) :)

I vote that you write for season 4
