Maximo, this look at the process as it goes is very enlightning and useful for us new kitbashers. this would be a kickass ´bash. congrats.
Thanks guys! Glue update! I glued! I spilled the glue! Sure, when i want it to work, it's a pain in the diode, but spill it where i don't want it? works right away. Either way, check it out! I also cut holes in the hinges to match the portholes on the side panels. pics on that later, i forgot in all the hectic glue shenanigans. SHENANIGANS!! Fixing the arm, so they weren't connected when i took this pic. But it will all fit, i'll make it fit!
not yet - still needs a head, feet, and the trailer attached to the body! but soon! what's good isthatmost of the things that i've attached are easily disassembled, which is good for painting.
man, looking better every day! it may be a p.i.t.a., but you better bring this to botcon! i need to see this in my hands! keep up the great work!
finish by botcon, finish by botcon... we'll see! (i'd like that) EDIT: hitting new clearance issues. pics soon. ended up shaving the dinoneck down to the stalk and the "dino-collar". cut a notch in it to fit it onto a spot on the trailer. all of that will work, but i'm having problems getting the trailer to transform around the connection. we'll see, i'm sure i'll figure something out. also still a little bit of clearance with the shoulders, but i figured that out - the notch on the shoulder just needs to be lengthened. some pics tonight, goin out to play a memorial day show with my band! EDIT 2: Had a brainstorm of possibly using two-pack Prime for the cab instead. I was playing with the figure today, and kinda figured out what the foot transform would be like. It would give him really well proportioned feet, and a bigger cab for the truck. more to come...
MP, that's the joy of doing a bash like this, it can change as you need it to, or as IT needs to....nothing is set in stone. One thing I have found that works good for me?....paper templates. Make what you need out of paper first....then transfer that over to the plastic
nice so what's fuseing them to form menasor, I'm going to make a mp bruticus and looking for good fusion bits
not quite sure on the fusion bits, probably neo-shifter connectors. as for 2-pk Prime, i think it can work. the middle part that holds the grill and windshield would need to be cut in half, with each half retaining its movement on its own side. the "top" of the cab would be cut in half, and glued to where it connects to the arms (side of the cab). I may have to lose the grimlock foot nubs, and slim up the "ankles", to get them to connect to the area that holds the 2-pk prime front tires. I may use the same method to do that which i used on getting the WA on the back of the torso. We'll see!! pk - paperfirst sounds like a great idea. d76 - most likely, so long as i can protect it. definitely a carry-on, lol...
kinda outdated - the torso will be bigger, and bumblebee and jazz will switch spots, but here's an old mockup: Lockdown as a leg OWNS.
I love seeing some solid hack and slash when it comes to kitbashing. Its that uncomfortable feeling you get when you make the first cut that stirs up some real curiosity. I cant WAIT to see this one all painted up, and the transformation looks really smooth so far. KUDOS!
as my buddy dave (decepticon1976) said, nothin a little shaving and putty can't fix. or something like that. Thanks, Quantum! Cowclone - it's actually gonna be bigger, it will kind of look like the grimlock chest is part of Menasor's abs... torso mockup Well it's on pause, i'm heading to Botcon tomorrow!! June comes, and i'll be finishing him.
Ultra Magnus forearms. WHat's nice is, they're basically beefed up version of Ratchet hands, so it'll look uniform.
