As everyone probably read in the last Ebay sucks thread. I had posted my horror story with ebay. I got suspended off ebay about 2 years ago for refusing to pay a seller for 3 ebay items I had bought off of him. The reason behind this was that in his auction it had stated he would combine shipping on 2 or more items won. So I bidded on 3 items I wanted and expected the shipping to be combined. But when he sent me the end of auction checkout, he sent me 3 individual ones. So I was paying $10 or w/e shipping was for each item. I contacted him about it and he wouldnt fix the problem so I decided to contact ebay about the problem. After getting nowhere with them, about a week after talking back and forth with ebay, I was hit with 3 unpaid item strikes and had my account suspended. Fast forward 2 years or so later, I make a new account and win 2 auctions and paid with in 5 minutes or so of winning the auction. In which case I got 2 positive feedback marks and left the same for the sellers. So today I log into ebay and find my account was suspended due to it being linked to the suspended account I had 2 years ago. They tell me I have to contact the asshole that wouldnt answer any of my emails on why he wasnt combining shipping on the 3 or so items I bought off of him and he clearly stated in the auction "will combine shipping on auctions 2 or more", and ask him to lift the unpaid item dispute and pay for the fees he had to pay ebay to list the items. If i had a problem with the guy in the first place, why would he listen to me now??? So how do I go about making a new account with ebay so they wont suspend me for being linked to the old account. I had this new account for about 2 months and they magically block me now. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

get a new computer, email address or internet provider. That is about the only way. Any info you have which would connect you in any way with a suspended account, be it mailing address/billing addresses will net you another suspension and possibly a perma-ban for trying this twice. Sorry mate, but your story makes me not want to use ebay that much anymore.

Any a you boys seen a chicken around here?

Seriously, did you get the help you needed?

Of course the seller is an ass.

But it is also your fault.

For your first account issue, no metter how, you should pay for the items in 7 days.
That's the basic rule. If buyer doesn't pay in times, the case will go to seller's favour 100%. No exception.
Second, the amount seller charged you is leagally correct. Because seller didn't say combine shipping to save buyer cost or any detail discount in shipping fee. You just assumed combine shipping should be less. While seller may say I just combine the items to ship (ship in one box instead 3 ). Case like that belongs to miscommunication or misundstanding and it is hard for ebay to determin whose fault in that morment. If buyer paid and use "item not as described" later, then seller will cry and lost everything. But no payment, like you, seller is laughing at you all the way.

For your second account. Yes, you have to solve the problem with your first account. There are 2 ways to do that. One is contact that ass seller to remove it. The other is that you can cotact some part called ebay safety and security which can lift that suspension for you. You just need submit your ID info to proove your name, address, number is correct. Any bidding without pay issue can be solved after being suspended one year.

Sorry Yamaotto but i definitely disagree with you. The seller clearly stated "would be happy to combine shipping". When you state something like that, you mail the items out in one box and shipping should be cheaper. I know I have sold stuff and every time you combine shipping, the cost should be a little less than as if you shipped each item in its own individual box. To me who ever states it and then doesn't combine shipping, is scamming the buyer and just trying to make more profit with the shipping cost.

My question is, why would you want to be a part of ebay if you are such a moral crusader? Sometimes sellers make extra profit with sneaky tactics, sometimes sellers actually lose money on autions. Ebays rules are hard for everyone... but it has to be seen to do something to stop the scamming of it's product. In general the system is good and works pretty well, but you always will have bumps in the road, that's just the nature of a business that involves so many amateurs and relies on so many unpredictable factors (especially the international mail systems).

Rdfnd1253, first of all, just to let you know that even when we know you have a point here, what Yamaotto is trying to say is, that you shoulded pay for whatever he charges you first, and then file a dispute about it. Following the process or at least, playing the game with their rules, if you will. I think you could have done something in return to the ass seller, like breaking the items he sent to you, then asking for a refund, etc. I know thats is not honest, but the trick he pulled wasnt either.

I do understand what you are saying, but I did contact the seller right away about this problem and even ebay. It wasnt like I didnt pay and decided to contact them weeks later. I contacted the seller right away trying to clear the problem up. When that failed in the first few days of winning the auction I contacted ebay so they could clear up the mess. I found the ebay customer support help to be horrendous and not helpful at all. I find that to be unfair. I even told the guy its not like I dont want to pay you, Im willing to, but you did state you'd combine shipping and I expect that. If it didnt state that in the auction I would of never bothered to bid on the items or I would of paid shipping for each individual item.

Yea I understand that and probably should of went that route, but now that its a couple years later, I would think you should be able to start over new and not have to contact that seller to have them lift the unpaid item strikes. That's my biggest problem with this. If the guy wouldnt work with me when I won the auction, why would he listen to me now and lift the marks off my account.

Obviously the seller sucks and it's mostly your fault. You should expect that sometimes that's why I buy ebay items separately!

Because on ebay sometimes expect the unexpected! :thumbs2:

    YEAH!

Use a new email address, buy a prepaid debit card, get a new PayPal account, and re-register with a new name and account on eBay. At that point, they can't connect the dots.

Also, another tip. Since you're not selling, and only buying on eBay, do not link your eBay and PayPal accounts. Even though they are the same company, PayPal does not report who you are to the 'Bay if you don't allow them to.

As far as eBay's concerned, you're JoeSchmoe2009 making a payment for an auction he won with a PayPal payment off a debit card. Not SameUser2009 and 2010.

The original seller was at fault for defrauding you on the shipping. $30.00 for shipping three items in the same box, domestically is highway robbery and fraud. And there's no way that handling (not counting shipping) ups the price that much. Not a chance in Hell.

You should've fought it tooth and nail, or if that didn't work try and reach a compromise with the seller to pay his auction fees and take a negative, over a non paying bidder strike.

You were wrong for linking the two accounts. Of course eBay was going to find out sooner or later (I'm surprised they didn't pick up on it right off the bat).

This is why people are leaving eBay in droves. When sellers like TFCTOY become commonplace, then it's a sign to get the hell out of Dodge.

Amazon's shaping up to be even better than it already is. Might want to consider scouring their site for your TF needs. Sure, eBay can be cheaper because you basically set the price (if you're dealing with a reputable seller and not some shill bidding piece of crap) but the costs of playing the game their way isn't worth it.

This is precisely why I barely ever buy anything off of eBay. I always try to go with BBTS or the like first. Amazon came through several times without problems. eBay is my absolute last resort when I feel a need to feed my "pre-release" plastic crack addiction.

And as for selling? Hah. Fat chance. I tried selling last year, one item, and it was a fiasco. Now the policies (minus the shipping requirements, which are great) are just pure crap. And for what? So they get a double cut of your profits?

I mean, don't get me wrong, if I'm going to sell on eBay, I damn sure know that PayPal's gonna get me, and eBay's gonna get me. I'm not going to post an auction and then bitch about their costs when I know full well what I'm getting myself into before I hit the submit button, but their double dip practice stinks.

Good luck, you're gonna need it.

You should have paid first, then filed a complain with paypal. The reason these jerks won't take paypal is because it does *a lot* more for you than ebay ever will. The fact that you didn't go through with your side of the transaction might have spoken against you, even though you were right. Good luck.

Seems to be an awful lot of redundancy going around in all the replies. In my first reply I stated the steps needed to be taken, but then I guess everyone wants to be GI told you so here.
