If I never heard the original song before, I would say it's not bad. I actually kind of like it.
As it were, however, I do know the old song, and this version seems kinda weird.
Perhaps it will grow on me.

LMAO! Was thinking the same thing.

Anyway...was never much of a fan of the first but this....this just seems desperate. Stan, 'The Touch' is not getting on the soundtrack of any Bay's movies. Don't beat a dead horse, please!

I honestly don't like it, it's lacking the momentum the original had I think.

Stan Bush was, and still is awesome (final word), and I think made the 2 best songs on the 1985 movie soundtrack that still sound great today, even though I'm no fan of 80s rock or hair-metal. I always wondered what an update of one of those songs would sound like, and I guess it wouldn't be too far from this.

I hate the rapping parts though, absolutely no need for that, just to try and make it more "credible" with the kids (ugh!), the song would do fine without it.
The moodier tone is good, even if it's not an improvement on the original, but obviously the video is a very low-budget addition to the tune. This hardly matters, a new one could be knocked up with a bigger budget at any point. It's basically just a few shots of those guys edited in with scenes from the 2 movies. Just something to accompany the audio.

I'd love to hear the original, along with Dare in the new movies, but their tone is sadly too up-beat and feel-good for the "edgier" direction of popular media today. Having said that, imagining Bumblebee transforming to his battle-stance on the Witwicky front lawn, preparing to fight with a rapidly descending Decepticon jet, brightly lit by the afternoon sun with a little Bay lens-flare glinting off his body parts would be perfectly accompanied by the intro to the original Dare.
Or even Bee and Sam relaxing in Sam's folk's garden on the grass while Bee plays tunes on his radio, one of them just happening to be the original "The Touch" would be perfect.

Oh, and "The Touch" was never, and will never be Sam's song. It belongs to Prime (and so should Dare come to think of it).

It's like some one turned Stan down to -1, why because it's one lower. Seriously this should have been titled "The Touch Unplugged" why because Stan sounded like he was singing in a library.

    I want to clarify.

Stan Bush is a great guy. I've loved his past work. He's not a bad guy and he made an honest attempt to modernize a classic song that fans love in hopes of getting it in to the movie. For that, I commend him. But I am not a fan of the song, not enough to throw my support behind it. But that doesn't take away from Stan Bush or his place in Transformers history.

The chorus is the only good part of the whole song. The rest of it is just awful.

The original FTW. They could've updated the original with a more techno vibe or metal or anything, but not this. This is awful.

    Let's be honest here, guys.

The ALBUM SOUNDTRACK for the first movie blew ass.

Songs like "What's It Feel Like to Be a Ghost?" were out of place and an embarassment to the Transformers name, so I don't see why this wouldn't fit right in on the new soundtrack.

    Stan the Touch Bush

This a is a great true updated verison of the famos song. All G1 lover ,ove this song so why not this one? He did is upgrade but not update the popoular Transformers movie song. Now he has truely updated the song. The heart and the lyrucs are there just toned down a little. Makes me have great hopes that Michael Bay is making this movie a true G1 Transformers movie.

    Pretty pathetic to be honest.

Poorly made video, idiot guitarist has a child rapist smile the whole time. The rapper looks like he is about to crap his pants, and Stan....well he looks like man grasping at straws.
