Probably because Dare is Vince's song. He and Scott Shelly wrote it; Stan just sang it on the soundtrack. I'd love to hear a new version of 'Hold Your Head Up High' again.

Didn't like it at all. The original blows it away.

Ok that sucked ass! The original was awesome, this sucked. Why in the world would he do that to the song, its like he was trying to be like Linkin Park. Crap. He should have come up wth a New song that was original but still played with the theme of the Transformers.

he seems to have ran out of juice 25 years ago. Kind of pathetic that he stole Linkin Park's sound for it.

Not sure what to say. I LOVE 80's music and the Touch is like my favorite song in existance EVER (well, okay, it might be Dare, its a tie). I must listen to it at least 3 or 4 times a week. Stan has done over 10 albums and preserves a tradition of great classic rock sound in all his music. He doesn't need to remake one of his greatest hits into something "modern." It was classic enough just the way it was! I'm really not sure what the rap has to do with anything, that said I do think the reinmagined chorus is kinda catchy. I don't hate the new version. And if it gets Stan on the new soundtrack more power to him, but there was nothing wrong and everything right with the original in the first place! (And would it really hurt him to finish off the chorus "when you got the power..." Don't leave us hanging just SAY IT say, "You're got the touch!" and finish off the song, I hate it when songs do that, it's annoying.)

I think Stan's "In this Life" would make a good theme for Sam and Mikaela with a little reimagining.

ouch...being a musician myself, that was a real poor attempt to modernize. Linkin Park would probably try to sue if this made it in. It is too close to "What I've done" from the the first movie theme. Sorry Stan, you had your time 20 years ago, time to retire.

That video was actually funny it was so bad.

He seriously should just let it go, or have linkin park remix it. At least they have energy, emotion and oomph to their usage. This is just all shades of bad karaoke.

I'm actually looking forward to linkin park on the score, I've loved their music for a long time, and look forward to the 3-4 obligatory remix cds that'll come now with transformers stuff spliced into their original and new songs. Especially if the remixed the Points of Authority song gets a new video using Transformers this time. =D I'm all up for more videos like that one's already epic coolness. Now just imagine if they do CG MVs using Cybertron and the war on it next! Even those who hate them, have to admit they actually convey emotion and energy in their work, even if it's not their taste.
They have everything mutemouth, and Stan are lacking. Energy, Flair, and actual emotion to the vocals.

As for stan, I'd prefer they referenced the original through BB's voice box. Maybe as a parting shot to sam somewhere about mikaela...

Now I'll actually say this, I never said it about the first movie, or the sequel though I came damn close when the prime jetfire info leaked out, I've settled down on that because of why I think it happens now. (Graverobbing ftw... I hope.)

But Dammit Stan, I can't let this one slide.
Stan Bush has raped my childhood. Not Michael Bay, not ILM, not even Hugo Weaving, or Shia LeBeauf, Stan Bush has done it, he has RAPED my CHILDHOOD. I can never watch TFTM again without shuddering when the original song starts playing because it reminds me that he turned that into this. *shudder*
Let alone when it plays during the return of optimus prime. *Shudder*

So thank you Stan Bush, for accomplishing what hollywood has not. YOU have raped my childhood thoroughly.

The only way he can redeem himself for this in my eyes, is to get the original 'The Touch' on Transformers Animated.

Y' know after I slipped on my 'ol Members Only jacket and gave it another listen it ain't half bad!:sly: :rolleyes2

The guitarist is irrelevant and superfluous to the vid. He should not even be in it. Seriously, I gave it another listen looking away from the monitor, to give a fair assessment of the song itself.

All in all, I can't help wondering why Stan didn't write a new, original song to submit. He could have easily alluded to or referenced "The touch".

Also whether a new song or a revamp, he should have considered hiring a "current" producer to lend some objectivity to the project.

This really has a dated sound, the "modern" embellishments only clash artistically, beside the fact they are hamfisted and forced sounding. It is clearly not who these people are as performers/writers. The rapping is utterly unnecessary and distracting.:2c:

Well I am a big fan of the touch, So to me any other version will never do the same as the original. Now I am trying to keep a open mind but this song is nothing I can say when I heard it (that was a pretty good song!) it does not even sound like the touch, but a butchered version with some lyrics that really do not go with the beat. Also im down for white rappers but this guy is just ok and not really great.

The one thing I hate is the chorus being high, it seems like there is too much going on (like 3 songs in 1) and I dont mean like a remix. Many old songs that are re-done turn out great but this song needs a lot of work as it sounds like they are trying to get a Linkin Park feel but it came out KO lol....

I think to have the touch in the movie would be sweet as it is a important part of TF history, But to really make the song good I think Stan needs to approach someone like Linkin Park to help with the beat, And maybe even to come up with a good hook? As if you are trying to sound like them why not just go to them.

My thoughts and at this point and all I can say is good try Stan, So I myself hope this is not what they think is going to get them in the movie or on the soundtrack because it really does need work.

I am currently using cool-edit-pro to make this into my new ringtone. Finally, the great RickRoll song that has been my ringtone for over a year has been replaced.

I don't like the chorus. That was ruined in my opinion. The screaming we could do without IMO. But if Stan Bush made it, he must approve of it so then I guess it should be good in my book. I didn't like "What I've Done" when I heard it at the end of the movie the first time I saw it, but by the third I was humming along with it. We'll have to see if this makes it in.
