I picked it up because it looked cool in the pack too but it's not so great in real life.
This must win some kind of award for 'most repainted in the shortest amount of time'

No. That would be the Classics Seeker mold.

Glad to know that there's another Botcon figure who's getting a NEW head!

Sadly, all I can see is a whole patch of red there, can barely make out Razorclaw's face. :(

Well, that's how the G1 version of this character looks like.
I think the new head turned out quite good.
In fact I think the figure as a whole is one of the best of this years set.
Could there have been a better mold for Razorclaw? I don't think so.
It's actually the very first time I like this mold.
For me Razorclaw is a must have.

I thought Leo Prime still had electronics?

Dang. Wish this was the version released for Universe 2.0 instead of Leo Prime.

But if you named it after the gastalt part, having it be able to do that would have made more sense... I don't think that's stupid at all.

No. Just because Razorclaw could combine to form a gestalt once doesn't mean he always has to. Time and time again there have been toys of members from a gestalt team that were not designed to combine.

In these cases, the focus is upon the character itself not the gimmick that he could form a body or limb to a gestalt. Here, you're buying Razorclaw for Razorclaw, not for the body of Predaking.

Leobreaker was not designed to be a gestalt component other than Savage Claw Mode. You're saying that to remold Leobreaker so that it becomes a gestalt or not create a Razorclaw repaint from him. Theres flaws with both of these; its just too expensive to remold a lot of the toy so all they can do is the head (or in Thrust's case, the wings) and it just wouldn't work well as a gestalt just because it wasn't originally designed to be one. There's not even any appropriate limbs to use. Just because you can dream a fantastic idea, it doesn't mean its financially or even physically possible to do.

Having the toy as someone else other than Razorclaw? The whole point of using this mold was to have it as the character Razorclaw. Doing it as "Jungle Stealth Leobreaker" or whatever wouldn't have been the same. The Cybertron and Energon toys were usually created to be brand new characters not G1 characters so basically if you had your way none of them could be repainted into a G1 character because then they wouldn't retain the gimmick of their original G1 toy.

Many people in the Transformers fandom have accepted that repaints of modern toys as G1 characters won't always have the same gimmick as the original G1 toy. If you want a new transforming Predaking gestalt, you're going to have to wait until one is created specifically to be Predaking.

Looking nice. And double-win to me since I don't dislike the Leobreaker mold (don't love it either).

The mans got a point. IE; Onslaught, Silverbolt, Dragstrip, Animated Swindle...

But, I don't know if "accepted" is the right term here. More like "forced to live with" haha :lol

Nobody said it had to... I'm just stating my opinion that I don't want it because it doesn't... but apparently this way of thinking is too stupid for you to accept.

And I'm not "many people..." Forced to live with is about right.

I wouldn't be surprised if the electronics are not present this time. They did the same thing for Botcon Alpha Trion 2 years back when it was retooled & repainted from Vector Prime. :(

Without checking my own list (shame on me!), I think the only time electronics were retained for a 3H/FP exclusive has been Club Astrotrain.

OK. Now you've gone and made me check my sheet. I actually mention Cyclonus as having them gutted, but I can't imagine they'd have left SOME electronics while taking out others.... (goes off to fix)

Also add BotCon 2006 Optimus Primal as one that retained electronics.

cyclonus definitely works...get the nice red lights when you press the button....

MegaZarak is gutted...which sucks..because he definitely should of had some prerecorded sayings like his moldmates galvatron and megatron...
