Well considering that it's an older figure that's pretty great and in demand, I think it is. I've definitely paid far more for similar stuff, and if one wants it, I think it's not too much to pay for.
When I say sales, I mean similar to the 800-yen Bassha I just got. With Souchaku Henshin dead (again), I'm gonna see how many more clearanced ones I can hunt down.
Yes, I am pretty aware of the dirt-cheap Bassha on HLJ, kinda like the infamous 1100 yen Saga belt. But really, the regular Kiva is worth hunting down for, even if he's a bit pricier than he should be. With the dismal usage of the other forms in the series, I kinda feel he's really the only form worth getting, to display as a centrepiece of sorts. Besides, wouldn't the subtitles prefer seeing the front-man Kiva? ; ) EDIT: Y'know, I actually remember you showing regular Kiva before, my bad. That's embarrassing that I forgot considering I'm a big fan of your videos.
Luckily I nabbed a Souchaku Henshin Kiva when I had the chance. It's a nice figure and all but I do have a few complaints. The shoulder pads have an "interesting" hinge that hampers some arm movement (mainly the ability to punch straight) and the die-cast right foot (pretty awesome regardless) restricts some of the poses as well. But he does come with a removable Kivat and is overall a great toy if you're a fan. Too bad Souchaku Henshin DoGaBaKi is damn near impossible and expensive to achieve now. And on an unrelated note Saraba Den-O RAW just came out!
That was actually a very carefully framed Garulu Form Kiva. I just have trouble paying 2500+ yen for newer Souchaku Henshins after getting a string of awesome sales buys. Fairly sure Regular and Dogga Kiva will eventually be mine for 1500 yen or less. >.>
I do admit it's a bit tough to pay that kind of price for an older figure, especially when I feel the SHFs have totally outclasses the Souchakus. But I kinda feel if you really want it, just go for it, especially since it's not that exorbitant a price. Just...high-ish.
It's definitely not high on my list- that's another reason why I'm waiting to catch clearance sales. I've just found that over the last couple years, some Souchaku Henshins will always be expensive, but some will just try to convince you they'll always be expensive. XD (That said, argh need Climax Form, Rey/Arc, Alternative Zero, and Accel Faiz)
I saw a listing on eBay for an Accel Faiz for $10 + $10 shipping just last week, it didn't sell and so far it hasn't been re-listed.
I dunno, I'm still on SH. That is, until Bandai finally fixes SHf's anorexic waist syndrome. Gives me more time to backtrack on the older SH figs. You would be surprised that the SH G4, G3, Ichigo, Nigo, etc are still easily available in Japan... Managed to grab a Liner form and Ryuki Survive there end last year at for around 16USD each.
Not to derail the current SH discussion, but can anyone provide me with some links to an SIC Climax Form/Urataros review? Or at least a picture gallery? I just picked these up, but I'm wondering how much I can actually play around with these swappable parts, or how much I can pose them. The Urataros seems especially stiff in his upper chest.

I am half expecting "Climax Jump" to replace the intro song in Decade and for the next two episodes to be full of sweet Den-O jazz. Wonder if Decade is going to pull a Kingdom Hearts and have to go back to all the worlds all over again to pick up the upgraded forms. How else are they going to fill up eleven episodes (allegedly if the series ends at thirty that is)?

So, I just got the SH Figure Arts DX Momotaros figure from a friend who went to Japan. This thing is spiffy, and close enough scale to hang with my Doctor Who figures! (Mwahahaha!) Pictures coming soon! Got the day off tomorrow, and going to snag a good camera to snap the pics with.
