They might know about Strika and her team in historical records from the Great War (she is said to be a famous war general for the Decepticons), or perhaps Soundwave somehow caught up Decepticon transmission through the tachyon emissions, and as a communication expert, and empowered by the divine AllSpark energies, might somehow receive it (most unlikely explanation, but still possible).

Or perhaps he contacted real Decepticons aside from Megatron, like talking to Lugnut and Blitzwing, before they were caught.

Several possibilities, but I guess it won't ever be mentioned anyway why he would know them (unless Derrick Wyatt would answer it on his blog).

Dude, I thought that too! :D  I was watching the episode next to my sister on the dinner table when that part happened (My 1st view of the ep). I was like "Hey, look, it's independence day!!"

    Other non-TF homages = FTW

Simple Megatron Built Soundwave with the purpose of being his new body (attempt 2 or 3) It's likely to think that some OF Megatron went with that programming. I mean look at Grimlock, he may be "inferior" in construction, but regardless has a HUGE opinion of himself, not to mention putting himself in charge. Regardless Being built by Megatron (in theory) Soundwave would know everything Meg's does, including every solder under his command, thus all 'Cons would be at Soundwave's disposal.

There's also a Transformers Armada reference in this episode, and now that I think about it, it was in Sound and Fury too. The 'controlling' sound Soundwave makes sounds an awful lot like the Space Minicon Team call to form the Requiem Blaster in the episode Desperate.

Gonna assume he meant the Cybertron firing on Detroit scene. It did seem an awful lot like ID.

Is anyone but me really annoyed by the whole virtual reality thing? It's not the 'virtual' part i hate, that's fine, it's the whole 'just wish for it, make a noise from 1984, and you go back to robot mode' part that's just a bit too easy...

I saw it as a unicron homage because to me it looked like the beam was pulling pieces of rock up into itself. Could be a little of both.

I felt it was more referencing Unicron than anything else myself. It's certainly possible but if it is a nod to something else then it is a confusing one. The whole absurdity of the VR once Cybertron appeared was hilarious.

If the Autobots were actually human, I'd agree with you. However, they're robots. They're trapped in a reality made up of bits and bytes. I think once they figured out they were in a simulation, it really SHOULDN'T have been difficult for them to take steps towards getting out.

The whole "its a dream we can do anything!" thing has been done to death though. To me this episode was little more than an excuse to go "Oh look the autobots are humans!". So I can see why some people disappointed with how the autobots realized it was a simulation. It kind of came out of no where too. Prime broke his leg, then all of a sudden he didn't....and then BOOM they realize it's a virtual simulation where they can do anything!

I'd rather they have been put in actual human bodies and been forced to fight their reprogrammed bodies using some Sumdac technology or something, having to be careful not to hurt their bodies and perhaps calling on the dinobots for some help. I mean the dinobots have to do something.

Personally speaking, I'm thankful it all turned out to be a virtual reality illusion instead of them actually becoming humans.

I think the reason she's useing them hand blasters is because Rachet sealed most of her abilitys/powers after she went berserk and nearly killed Bumblebee and almost nuked the city. But she's always had the ability to use them hand blasters even when she was a kid/preupgrade. But I guess we won't find out till next week.

Sad thing is I think the dinobots are done for this season. They got blowed up (presumably) in the Predacons rising episode. I'm not sure about you but if the Autobots are goin anywhere else, I doubt the Dinobots will be involved.

It seems as if the dinobots were just put into the show as an homage instead of being put in for any real purpose, other than BA's body guards anyway.

Speaking of references, did anyone else end up thinking "This is kind of like The Matrix" when the Autobots realised what was going on? I know I did *hides now*

Then wouldn't it be pretty much like G1 Season3's "Only Human"?

Truthfully I never saw the episode, or if I did I don't remember it at all.
