i really like this game. id give it a 9/10 the story is that you play as issac clarke and you have to repair this shup called the ishimura. while you are repairing the ship you come across the things.. they are called necromorphs. you basically go through the ship fighting these things and repairing it. you also look for your girlfrend. it is really scary, and really fun. they are also making a wii only sequel called extraction.....
I had it for 360, and traded it at gamestop after two days. That's all it took to get board with it. Damn near beat it too. Game informer magazine gave it a 9/10 top. Graphics kinda sucked as well. Got wanted: weapons of fate for ps3 with the trade.
Have it on PC, freaking amazing game. Can't wait for the sequel (still not sure on the Wii game coming out though).
Have it for PS3 but still need to finish it; very good in mood, lighting and sound. One of those games that is great for being simple.
One of the best horror games I had the pleasure playing. I am on the 2nd last chapter on medium and boy what a ride it was. I like it more then resident evil 5..
Good because RE5 is nothing special at all. And the shoehorning in of multiplayer is just fucking stupid and one of the things I've come to absolutely hate about this generation of gaming. Anyways, played Dead Space back at SDCC last year alongside the game's exec producer (nice guy). Picked it up on the 360 and downloaded it on the PC. One of my favorite horror games of all time. Also have the animated prequel, which is a pretty entertaining flick. Also for the record, Dead Space Extraction is a prequel, not a sequel.
Have it for the PS3 and love it. The zero G vacum areas were awsome, just wish they woulda done more uses of it. One of the best games i've played in a long time.
Dead Space is full of bullshit. Let me explain. At first you see one of those horrible monsters and you're all like OMG OMG! Run gawds darnit! So you run to the elivator and make it. Fine, thats all well and good. Down the road somewhere you get a weapon to defend yourself, and you'll all like "Sweet now I can defend myself!" Next, one of those thing-a-do's (Necromorphs) rip the door open and you're all "Pshaw, no problem, I've got m'ah plasma cutter!" BLAM-BLAM! Okay, so it takes more than two shots. BLAM-BLAM! Four? BLAM-BLAM-BLAM! Seven?!?! Next you'll be hear all this "SHOOT THEM IN THE LIMBS! DISMEMBER THEM!" And then you're all like "Wait what?!" and then the horrible thing-a-do tears you to shreds. Okay, serously, this game is awsome. The wee little hallway in my trailer reminds of one of the corridors in this game so I kept the night light on for a few days while playing the game. I know it's a silly thing, but the way my bed is angled, I would go to sleep looking down that hall and kept thinking a Necromorph is going to attack me.
Agreed. Dead Space is fantastic. I'm not all that impressed with RE5. In fact, I think RE4 is better.
Dead Space was a great game. Simply had great atmosphere and I enjoyed it all the way through. Comparing it to RE5, well, I think RE5 was awesome to, but RE5 just wasn't an improvement over RE4 on a lot of levels and that made it feel less fresh. But, RE5 did hook me into it by making me replay levels a lot to earn cash for upgrading. Something I really think Dead Space should have let you do. I played through Dead Space once and I don't really feel the need to go through it again, where is RE5 made me feel like playing more. I guess to sum it up, I enjoyed RE5 for more hours, but the time I spent with Dead Space were probably more enjoyable.
Dead Space deliver the creepy atmosphere and great scares that RE5 lacked and needed so much. Why couldn't Capcom just take a look as to how third-person shooters have evolved since RE4? Ok so we get Gears of War weapon system, great. But where are the scares? the OMG WTF! moments that made the series famous? C'mon, RE stopped being survival horror and is now an action shooter with controls that make me wish I could run and shoot ala Gears.
i always said i hoped resi 5 would look at this game... but yeah, going through my third playthrough at the mo to get some o' those pesky trophies.
The Dead Space: Downfall animated feature is on netflix instant for anyone that has netflix and wants to watch it on their computer/360.
I need to go back and do some of this stuff too... and just to experience it again as it was so fucking amazing. Maybe after Condemned 1 & 2 ¬_¬
yeah it's pretty much the most polished and smooth survival/horror game i've played. the stories pretty good too, reminds me of bioshock in that most of its there for you to find (audio logs etc) rather than being shoved in your face.
Got this as my first game alongside my PS3, played it for about half and hour, enough to get me hooked. Fantastic atmosphere so far, the resi [old resi, actually] freak inside me has me punching most of the monsters instead of shooting. Is it just me or you can't turn easily in this game? You have to tilt the camera to the direction you want and THEN move that way with the analogue, right?
