Easy pass on both, for me. I will not give in to the remold/repaint/repack thing. One of the reasons I passed on Premiums. Screw them.
i still prefer if they somehow gave him the weapon he had in the movie. edit: speaking of barricade of course.
Interesting that we're getting a new Barricade. I'll buy it, just because he was my favorite Decepticon from the first movie.
BB: Cannons looks cool, maybe i buy him. Barricade: It looks like those two arms can fold up, into the grill/hood. Were Frenzy was. Since Frenzy is not going to be in the next movie, they had to make something else of that room. Im not buying him. If only they have made a new mold, were the hands are from the front, and shoulder from the back.
Barricade looks interesting, though I hope he has more different to him than the addition of the headlight hands. I'm still planning on getting this Bumblebee, though that could change in the future (looks like I could have been wrong about the windows...). I'm going to wait to see more pictures of these two before making a final decision on either one of them.
i think that barricade is the exact same as the first, but w/o frenzy who has been replaced by the light extendo-thingys
It's neat that they worked in Barricade's probe claws from the first movie, I like how it looks like they fold into where Frenzy use to store. However, I'm going to need to see how different the robot mode looks(If it even does.) before I decide to buy this guy for a second time. And even then I may not. As for the BB fig, I'll just wait and get the Cliffjumper repaint it most likely will get; since I didn't pick up the CJ repaint from the first line.
I'm going to go ahead and predict that we will see LOTS of repacked 2007 toys in ROTF packaging about two days after these hit. The filth that is the repacker will have a field day "upgrading" his toys.
Someone said that the hood on BB doesnt look like it transforms much, but I think it does actually. there are separation points on it. like the entire bumper folds out with the headlights, or at least pushes forward. I'm actually really sad that the windshield transformation is different, I was hoping that I would have been able to swap the new BBs window out with the old ones so I could bash my 08 CCBB a bit. Oh well.
But the question remains...can Barricade actually stand this time??? Did the engineers work out a way for him to not fall over at the slightest breeze? My movie one Barricade falls so much, I don't even bother trying to make him stand anymore. I just rip his arm off and have Bumblebee stand over him and beat him to a slow plastic death with it.
You got a defective one then. My first and second versions of the Barricade (yes there were mold changes along the way) both stand fine. Oh, and the fact that you can pop his arm off means that you've got the first version of the mold. The second one rectified the problem, but made him less poseable. I really don't see how anyone can think this is a new mold. Too much wishful thinking. If you compare the new toy carefully, all the cutlines are same. All the detailing is same. It's probably the exact same mold. Sigh.
Doesn't look like it to me. The vehicle panels look to have exactly the same break points as the original. http://www.tfw2005.com/resources/attachment.php?do=fullview&attachmentid=3489 I'm hoping for a new head, though. One that can turn and isn't flat in back would be nice. I'm still really puzzled by the Bumblebee. Maybe the legs are in a gated section of the original mold, or something.
Agreed, Barricade looks the same as the original non-premium version - and the fact he's non-premium surprises me given the premium had better print apps! The only difference to me appears to be the 'arms' which fit into the slot where Frenzy went. That was really my only complaint about the original, once I'd managed to get him standing up properly that is! The more I see of BB, the more he appears to be new. After looking at my CC BB the other day, I figured there had to be some major remoulding to accommodate the launchers, as they would get in the way of the shoulders. The more I see of this guy, the 'newer' he seems!
To be honest I thought Barricade was a much better deal when he came with Frenzy. I don't have a whole lotta use for these grabber things. They'll have to have redone a bit more for this to be worthwhile. Maybe a new head mold and replace that pop-out arm with a different gimmick. They should try doing that spinblade thing.
