Well It appears from the two prototype pictures that devestators mouth opens for the turbine function. Granted its going to be with the sweet sinistar esq sculpt in the final version.

Good demonstration of possibility. Does'nt look as bad as he had at toyfare.

I'm actually becomeing really interested in getting one of these playsets as a display for my spychangers. Essentially Its a new transformers base in general. Hav'ent had a real base in ages so even if I don't go for RPMs the talking devestator base should be solid. Display some of the mainline robots around it. I think its worth getting. Except for the skids RPM.

RPMs have hot packageing though. My wallet would weep if I went into those.

Given all of the combining features of transformer lines over the years, would a decent, combining, transforming Devastator really be that difficult to manufacture? My guess is probably not, but given to the more fiscal direction of the TF market, the item would probably sell more effectively as an unimaginative block, catering to a younger audience...and some Power Ranger fans.

Just to change the subject away from Devastator for a while...
Is it my imagination or are the flappy things on leader Prime's shoulders painted silver here? Previous Hasbro shows and stock photos showed these in red with the Takara version showing them in silver.

Could it be that both the Hasbro and Takara leader Primes have silver flappy things on the shoulders?

EDIT - Just noticed that the mock-up in the packaging still shows the red shoulder flaps.

I was wondering that too, I wouldn't be surprised if it were a prototype to final production change like Universe Hound and Cyclonus were.

Devy looks like he's in a "squating" position, maybe he's taller when standing totally upright... I mean maybe he can stand totally upright... hopefully. Still not sure if I'm going to get him or not after actually seeing him now, hew was a definite get for me, I dunno.

That Bumblebee helmet however = Full of win!!!!

Possible. But the Leader Prime I got was a fully finished, retail packaged figure, and he had the red shoulder bits until I painted them.

    I don't think so...

The Animated display consists of two rows:

Top Row - Activators Bandit Lockdown, Activators Dirge, Deluxe Samurai Prowl, Bumper Battlers Jazz

Bottom Row - Jetfire/Jetstorm 2-pack, Activators Cliffjumper (loose), Deluxe Waspinator, Deluxe Blurr (loose), Bumper Battlers Sting Racer Bumblebee, Bumper Battlers Soundwave (loose)

    No sign of Cyclonus.

That devastator is just terrible - definite shelf warmer at retail. Even for a penny I would not want that plastic crap in my house.

I hope the movie doesn't suck as bad as its toys.

Those 3D stickers remind me of some I got when I was a kid. I think they were TMNT themed. All the costumes are kinda creepy, though the Optimus Prime mask is kinda cool looking. The Animated one's also have the benefit of having some actual physical details, instead of all of them being printed onto the fabric.

Only Cyclonus I can see in any of those pictures is a Universe Cyclonus.

Ummm.....that's just Prime, he's not combined with Jetfire.

I'm not basing my opnion of Devy on that garbage that was Devy, because it was a prototype that was falling apart. If Hasbro has any brains at this point (although the treatent of Animated says otherwise), they should have at least a retail version that holds together better.

but those costumes scare me, especialy the one for the twins. I may accadently shoot somebody on sight if the were wearing any of those clothes.

As for Devastator... reserving judgement until we see a finished product that doesn't have the typical photoshoot mistransformations. Paint apps will obviously be different and better... but the overall feel seems kinda disappointing.

REALLY looking forward to seeing the Prime/Jetfire combo, and Hasbro is quite wisely flagging that as their big piece of the line, and so is teasing us with glimpses and hints.

    Otherwise, not much new here.

Movie Mighty Muggs were mentioned in the update in the below link.

And quoted, just in case you didn't feel like looking through those big posts on the other site.

Mighty Muggs - were included in with the Universe display (and even had a shelf tag saying they were part of Universe).
On display were Optimus, Megatron, Bumblebee, Soundwave.
Recently it was suggested that the Mighty Muggs TFs were being axed because online stores were removing wave 3 listings. It looks like the
reason could be because Hasbro will be releasing Movie Mighty Muggs,
so that 3rd wave is probably just being pushed back (it was originally
scheduled to be a June release - which is the Movie season). No word yet on how many or exactly when these Movie Mighty Muggs are being released.
