For those who pre-ordered, how do you get the flame 'Hog to work? I entered the redeem code and it downloaded, but I haven't seen it in-game.
I picked it up. I like RTS, and this is more "RTS Lite", but I can dig that, it might be a nice change of pace. I've only played the 2 levels in the demo and a couple skirmishes, but it was enough to convince me to buy it (Although I wish it also came out for PC, totally would have grabbed it there instead). Couldn't convince myself to get the LE, and i'm usually a LE whore, but the Halo 3 map pack means nothing to me, I doubt i'll ever play Halo 3 ever again. Cool tin, and book, but everything else was weak. EDIT: If anyone wants some multiplayer noobishness (from me, at least) send an invite.
I'm really enjoying this game so far. It's a nice break from the 12 year old mom-bangers on H3. Engaging enough storyline and RTS elements that don't require me to keep a log to remember what I need to do next.
I'm liking it, 3 missions in. Definatley something that was easy for me to jump in to learn the basics of RTS games. What's with the "patch" that comes in the LE, I'm guessing it's for the 360 itself. Not something I would normally consider a patch. I hate Gamestop. I went to Best Buy in the ghetto side of town, they usually have the more limited stuff still in stock. I ask about the LE and I'm told they were all for Pre-Orders, none of my Best Buy's has ever held Pre-orders aside. I went to a nearby Gamestop, knowing my answer already (I did score an unreserved Sf4 CE from GS though) plus it's a Halo title. The dickclown actually laughed in my face. So I went to the opposite side of town and found a million copies of the LE at another Best Buy and even some at a Wal Mart.
I'm probably still going to rent this. It's been quite a while since I've played an RTS, and Starcraft doesnt look to be coming out any time this lifetime.
It looks alot like a coaster to me. Anyone else with the CE tried out the halo 3 maps yet? I was screwing around in forge on sandbox last night. I haven't tried any of the map packs for halo 3 so I don't know if the extras they included in sandbox are in any other maps but man-cannon + flamethrower + giant golfball = chaos. Also, the gravity-hammer golf club is awsome.
From the pictures of it I've seen it looks like a standard military (US at least) patch that's sewn on or Velcro-ed to the shoulder of the uniform to represent the squadron you're serving in at the time. I've got some around here from my dad's assignments before he retired. The other shoulder has the flag. Like these- Though from what I can see it doesn't look like its made out of usual fabric, but that's what its supposed to do anyway.
It's not made out of fabric, it's made out of rubber. I thought more of a coaster when I opened mine up today as well.
It's got a stickiness about it, I think its meant to be stuck on the top(horizontal)/side(vertical) of the 360. It would probably look pretty sweet on an Elite or Halo 360. I have seen rubber "patches on cloathing before, they were all sewn on with the thread going through a channel though.
On a side note, when are the Mythic maps coming out on XBL Marketplace? It ould suck if I went to all the trouble of pre-ordering just to find out that the craptastic special edition is the only way to get them.
We don't know yet. But they will be released on the Marketplace. Last Bungie update said weeks. Speculation says sometime in April.
Somebody told me March 7th (which would make sense) and the Wikia page says the 10th. (which makes sense as it's a week after the HW release) Neither are particularily reliable, but I could've sworn Bungie.net said sometime in March, but I can't find the link. (that site is harder to navigate than XBL Marketplace, and it has tons of useless information)
Bungie said weeks, not months. So technically, 7 weeks is still only one month and three weeks. So sometime before the first week of May.
