I'm sorry to say this but as much as I thought Weller was a good G1 Megatron (baring in mind that I didn't grow up with G1 being 15, I had Armada Megatron who sounded cool.) I don't think his voice matches the hulking, scary body that is movie Megatron. Sorry but his voice kinda seems febble compared to the body whereas Weaving has that harsh voice. I'm not critising Welling at all though.
Oh I get it, I thought you mean that the back-box picture was the final transformation. Well if you're lucky, Hasbro gonna make a Voyager Megatron that uses spring-loaded fingers to do that.
First time in a looooong time that they get something good FIRST. Probably want to get another more 237283728 views when they reveal the head. If tf08.net gets their before that, I will laugh. Alot.
It's a non-realistic vehicle mode! So they should make it much better than the leader prime, for example, for it's based on a real truck!!! just like the animated series, the toys have perfect robot and vehicle modes....
Unless this is a prototype version, I guess it'll be yet another Megatron I skip out on. For me = EPIC FAIL!!!
It is really beyond my understanding why is it that with both modes COMPLETELY up to the designer's iIMAGINATION, they keep on messing up movie megatron like this ! The tank is not even a real vehicle ! Yet, that couldn't build it properly. I mean seriously, are the folks at hasbro telling us that it is easier to get a peterbilt truck to transform into an alien robot; THAN an imaginary vehicle which was invented FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE of transforming in the first place ! This is just like the 2007 leader class megatron all over again. A sleak image, and a chunky toy. This is hilarious. I just don't understand what makes megatron ( an ALIEN TRANSFORMING INTO AN ALIEN VEHICLE ) more difficult to build than optimus prime ( an ALIEN THAT TRANSFORMS INTO AN EARTH VEHICLE ) that's what I call irony !
Granted, the concept art and the toy have some differences. (especially on size/scale) I still think the figure is worth my money. I like his look, and I'll bet he's a lot of fun too. Sure, the first movie's Megatron was a pure pain in the ass to transform (those legs will make a TF designer cry.) but he was goofy lookin', he was massive (in vehicle mode), and he was a lot of fun over all. I have a feeling this Megatron will be just as much, if not more. He's not perfect, by any means, but he'll be fun. Last I checked, that was one of the selling points of a toy... they're fun.
Actualy, the concept art is SO different from all toys so far that I'd be willing to say that it was dropped for the current-smaller-claw-cannon arm.
I actually like the head showing in vehicle mode. It's so Megs can see the horror in your eyes the split-second before he runs you over. I also like the creepiness of the deccayed arm. A vast improvement over the original. Not as good Prime, but still a must-get.
