Last year I told my wife that I wasn't buying any movie toys this year except for Prime, Megatron, and anything that happened to combine with them (like Jetfire).

Then we got the listing for the 100 dollar Devastator. 6 Voyagers and 2 deluxes? That got added to the list.

Thanks to them not transforming, I'm saving myself 100 bucks... Thanks Hasbro!

Is it just me, or does the Scavenger/Demolisher component actually look kind of look bigger on its own than it does as part of Devastator? That's not right. :(

I still don't outright hate this thing, but at the same time I'm still not buying it. I like the movie Devastator design enough that even a semi-decent replica is tempting, but there's just too many things wrong with this for me to shrug off: the $100 price tag, the possibly omitted seventh vehicle, the inaccurately garish colours, the disappointing size, and of course, the non-transforming vehicles. I realise that the movie Devastator I want would be very hard to pull off, even with today's technology, but this just isn't an acceptable compromise.

I think I'm going to be content with this. It will be an excuse to buy 2 sets of Constructicons. I've never owned duplicates for combiners, so I think it might look good on display to have the Devastator giftset assembled with each individual transformable figure in robot mode in front of it.

That's really the only positive thought I'm getting out of this though.

I just WISH every parent bought this set will return them to the store. And they 'd write letter to Hasbro telling them their 5 years old need something more complicated than that.

Fans don't even want to buy a Devs with non-transformable body and limbs... It just don't make any sense; and charging at $100 is either stupid (making us) or a mistake (they did make).

So parents buying non-transformable toys for their kids should return them all because "they're not complicated enough"?

Kids are going to see the movie and want Devastator. They will see this toy that may not be 2ft tall, but is still quite large. Especially in the hands of a child. The kids aren't going to care if each bot doesn't have a robot mode as they'll keep it as Devastator 98% of the time. This figure will sell very well despite all the negative response from the members here. As adults being used to G1 Devastator and wanting more detailed figures and such I can understand where everyone is coming from. I'm not sure if I'll pick him up myself. However like I said kids aren't gonna care about what we do. They just want a huge toy named Devastator and that's exactly what this is.

Devastator is Hasbro's brilliant answer to Power Rangers. Now I see the rationale behind the calamity.

I may pick up the individual bots, but I'm not really interested in this. Bad move, Hasbro.

Well, after thinking about it, I feel that Hasbro did screw up with this figure, but I also think that I'll get this guy anyways. Sure, the lack of bot modes is a bummer, but like said before the plus side is that this guy could be the super-detailed stand-in for ROTF Devs. while the single-toy individual toys don't have to be combined, if they do. I for one will like Demolishor/Scavenger and Rampage displayed in bot mode, especialy the former (psycho mega mech-bike of death mode FTW!)
