Bay pulled that same "don't believe the rumors" amateur bullcrap whining last time, and that leaked script was spot-on. He's not smart enough nor does he have the time to orchestrate some crazy "disinformation" campaign. All he has time to do is consistently insult the fanbase and our intelligence then bitch when we do the same.

This movie sounds like a clusterfuck btw. X-Men 3 anyone?

IDW never pulled the references. In late July, 2008, two separate interviews by Simon Furman, Chris Ryall and Chris Mowry confirmed IDW had the script (which they used to write the Alliance/Defiance prequels and the movie adaptation) and that the titular Fallen was the main villian in the movie, and Furman added he was the same guy from The War Within. According to attendees of the UK Auto Assembly convention, Furman said pretty much the same thing there.

A week later, Michael Bay was being Michael Bay, bragging about how nearly everything on the net was fake, and that only a few people directly involved with the movie production had possession of or had seen the entire script. Unfortunately, a naive fan* called him on this and pointed out the two interviews he was contradicting. A few days later both interviews have removed all references to IDW having the script, Arcee being in the movie and the Fallen, including information about Simon Furman's upcoming project The 13, about the original 13 Transformers, one of whom was the Fallen.

That's a HELL OF A LOT OF TROUBLE to go through for misinformation.

    *Guess who that was?!?

But... does this mean that you guys will have a Google Cached version of your podcast to discuss these spoilers?

Why go to so much trouble when everything that's been removed from TFW is still up here,

Because this works for any site and is useful outside of even the TF community. It's a handy trick that most people don't think about.

Oh dear. Yeesh. I don't know whether to criticize Hasbro or the leaker. Feel sorry for the retailers.

It just makes it more true with every edit, I love the way the corporate machine works. They think they can control what people see but the more they remove it the more conspicuous it is in it's absence.

They'd be better off releasing a press briefing mocking the info and saying we'd have to be crazy to believe it! ;)

The huge irony of the situation is that the people on the online TF fan community are the only ones who are going to be (a) really interested in this leaked info (b) actively seeking this info (c) likely to see it anyway.

Quite why Hasbro don't want us to see the stuff I'm not sure. It's toys for the general public, not secret plans for world domination. Are they worried that their (copyrighted) designs will be stolen by another toy manufacturer or similar? We already knew (on paper) about a lot of this stuff anyway, surely?

Instead the way it's been dealt with just seems hilarious. Hope the guys who run this and the other TF fansites didn't get 'a visit' by any Hasbro heavies, they would do well to realise the hard work you put in for us here results in their pockets getting lined in the long run.

Staff Edit: Reply removed at the request of Hasbro. This includes open discussion, conjecture, or thinking about Transformers at all, ever. Even thinking about toys that might come out in the future is violating our copyrights. Stop it. Seriously, like, right now.
