Ohnestly i loved the first one, and looking back it was heavily flawed. The sniper rifle had that gay scope, the assault rifles all sprayed allover the place, no jump button hah.. etc. etc... they say theyve fixed everything in the second one tho as well as added tanks and a "take cover" feature resembling that of GRAW and Rainbow Six:Vegas, which IMO was a big thing missing from COD4 which has been my fave new game.

To be fair, the scope may have been abnormally happy.

Either way, I wasn't a fan of Killzone.

 

I gave Killzone a whirl a while back, I didn't enjoy it but then again I'm biased against console FPS since I think its a absurd platform for it. What I've seen of KZ2, I'll rent it and if I enjoy it, then I buy it.

 

The first one was disappointing; the plot was nothing new, the characters had no charisma, the AI was horrible and the shot accuracy stunk. Plus, the system couldnt keep up with the speed of the game, it would freeze or slow down. That said, If theyve been able to fix all this for 2 then Id look into it, but if it turns out like Haze, then I dont think so.

 

I liked Killzone for PSP. That had some decent fire fights. I havent checked out the one on PS2 though.

 

Count me in for sure. I think the first KZ had a potential that wasn't realized, and Gorilla realizes what they need to make this one better. The KZ world and visual style is my favorite over any FPS, but it needed that polish that I hope part 2 will have. I loved the PSP version, and what I have seen visually one part 2 is just amazing, even better than the "Look at us use normal mapping like it's water, while the textures underneath look like PS1 textures" Gears of War 2.

 

I am thinking about picking this up but I don't want to many FPS's. I have to get Bioshock from what I hear and Resistance 2 so I might end up skipping this one.

Don't get me wrong, DR. I don't HATE them, I just hate the oversaturation of them. I own almost every copy of DOOM ever made. PC, PS1, Gameboy, Xbox360, Xbox. Doom and Heretic kept me up many a late nights in college.

I just hate the Me-too WWII games. But I did like Halo a lot. I don't mind gears, but it's my least favorite. I love Resistance, and this one, well.....

Oh Im there in a big way. But Im trying to minimize my exposure to this game in order to maximize my enjoyment out of it. Same with Resident Evil 5. However I am not sure on if I will or will not be trying out the demo (for either of those games).

Also, I agree on the hype being shockingly low and I agree that its due to it not being on the Xbox.

 

Yeah a shooter not on Xbox sux in the eyes and hearts of gamers. Fortunately the same doesn't hold true for reviewers, thus far. IGN gave it a nice little 9.4, and I can't wait till next thursday to play the single player demo.

 

im still missing out on the demos, but im hoping i can get it on the 27th at mindnight and play it all friday morning. kind of weird theyre saying its coming out on a friday when almost ALL releases are on tuesdays from what ive seen. i predict that weekend to be laggy and heavily trafficed, hopefully in the 5 yrs or so Guerrilla developed a damn good network setup unlike some PSN games (looks at COD4 and WAW)
