That's pretty good. I think people would like that a lot.

My ideas for where Animated could go would be a Furmanesque tale involving time travel to the present day, along the lines of Time Wars or Target 2006 except in reverse. Not that it's the best idea or wouldn't turn into a big mess or anything, but you could do things like have Optimus assume the alt mode of a Peterbilt truck and meet animated versions of Sam Witwicky and Mikaela.

    Wait, maybe that's what I don't want. :confused2

Well I guess the main reason I want them to continue it, is I want to see how they progress the story arc. I wouldn't want them to continue if they were just going to have an unchanging situation with guest appearances and 'Bot of the week' villains. The Animated Universe has all sorts of potential that could be expanded upon. I don't want them to just abandon that. There's already so many loose ends that should be built on.

That would be a lot more satisfying than another continuity reboot.

That's very interesting, I hadn't considered the Takaratomy angle. Though I would question how important the Japanese market is when Hasbro has so much global control. Though I hope Takara continues to have more success with TFs and remains a part of it.

Of course the less obvious reason could be that Transformers Animated is getting some sort of sequel that takes place a few years later or some such. Who knows. I have really enjoyed the show and I am sad to see it go if this is indeed the truth.

    I could watch that.

Still hope Animated isn't done yet. I enjoy it, and more importantly my daughter loves it.

If it is true....I can't say I'm dissapointed. I've frankly never been inspired either by their toy designs, nor by the animation style. I tollerate both without comment because Hasbro seems willing to provide toy designs that I Do want....but that said, I'd really like to see them focus more on Universe and the new movie. Having a whole line of toys I haven't purchased sucks for both me And Hasbro.

Like some vast predatory bird, this bad news hangs over me.

As I've mentioned elsewhere, I was among the fans who upon seeing the initial designs and promo materials, figured the faster this series died the better. I'd give the series a chance, quit when it let me down, and pass on the toys, end of story. The cartoony designs, the chins, the twirling instead of transforming, the Allspark storyline? Ugh. How could I possibly like this, and what was Hasbro thinking?!? Then I saw the cartoon. By midway through the series, it was among my favorites. By the end of season 1, it was my second favorite series of all time. I initially bought just two Animated figures. Quickly that number doubled repeatedly. Now I own more Animated then I did Cybertron. I was also enjoying the US Animated comic, the first time ever I was getting every issue of a more mainstream TF comic. By the end of the second season, I was guessing that by the time the series was over with, that it may possibly be my favorite TF series ever, giving BW a run for its money.

I knew it wouldn't last forever, but I was certain we'd get to season 4, and maybe five to wrap it all up. Being killed prematurely to make room for more of the loathesome Movieverse is a slap in the face to me as a fan. (I can't stand the movie on any level.)

I'd love to be optimistic about the series going through a title change or something else, but it seems obvious the movieverse besides sucking and blowing, has killed what could've been my favorite series ever. That's the real shame, is that this series is being cut down way before it's Prime.

I know it'll mean nothing in the grand scheme of things, other then saving me money, but if Animated is cancelled, outside of Universe/Classics they're going to have a very hard time winning me as a fan of a series again. (Once burned, twice shy and all that.) :thumbdown

You know what the most amazing thing about all of this is? It's how this STILL UNCONFIRMED RUMOR has now been turned into supposed fact, and the way PURE SPECULATION - and nothing more - about Animated possibly getting axed to make room for a potential Movieverse series is already getting reactions like it's been confirmed.

Yeah, by the looks of it, Animated probably is cancelled. But until we get 100% confirmation straight from the horses mouth, let alone even a whisper about what a new series will be or IF a new series will even happen, I'd hope some people will put the brakes on all these Chicken Little reactions & insider theories.

Part of me thinks the reason Hasbro went in such a wildly different direction to the Movie with Animated in the first place was that they were covering their bases. At the time, the movie was an unknown quantity. Hollywood didn't think much of its premise, its director, its (relatively) low budget, its unknown actors and the fact it would be up against serious competition from sequels from proven film franchises.

Methinks Hasbro developed Animated on the off-chance the Movie wouldn't do so well, and the wildly differing style was to differentiate itself from the Movie style should the worst happen.

Agreed. I'm just so tired of good things being snatched away for the lowest common domination.

    But I digress.

All I can say is "Hope not".

My related concern is that - assuming a post-movie line is basically a variation on the Movie theme and style - there's little reason for Universe to return anytime soon either.

It wouldn't be enough to make me quit the fandom. But I sure can see myself not being excited about anything new for quite a while.

Well said, and I'm of the EXACT same thinking. My feelings are the exact same as yours.

I'd watch that. That sounds like something I'd enjoy... as long as it's not aquired animation (aka crappy re-dubs) and they keep the same voice cast from Animated together (for the most part). I mean that is basically the exact same formula that worked so well for Generation 1. Write it in the USA, record and dub it in the USA, then send it off to Japan and Korea to be animated with a decent look, then air it across the world and sell millions of toys! :thumb

    I'd watch that too.

I'd love to see a War Within or a Universe Classics show. Just the thought of that gets me hooked already. But with a Universe show they have an opening to tie in all the varioius universes and make some theoretical sense of all the reboots so there is some kind of continuity in the fiction of TF lore. And I would like to have a great Transformers series that makes it past a season 3. It seems like they have a cap/ceiling for how many season's they will allow, and that's 3. Because no series (Except for G1 if you count "The Rebirth" 3 episodes) has ever gone past a 3rd season.

Speaking of Rebirth... such is the history of Transformers... series ending clifhangers. The paralells are there. I'm still looking for some closure on that story line. I sincerely hope Animated fans don't have the same problem when their favorite show concludes. Hopefully there will be a great finale with closure to the entire series that leaves them with a deep sense of satisfaction.

canceled or not i just want the rest of the animated toys delivered to the Asian pacific region and Europe.i mean come on. i want to see shockwave on my shelves not hear how Americans are now still two waves ahead of us.

distribution has been rather shocking and i really dont wanna have to import to get the last of an awesome line cos the show got canned after 3 glorious seasons.
