Roberto, will there be any mention of Jazz at all in ROTF?
I'm not talking much, just perhaps one line or anything at all referencing him or his death.

Roberto, on the official page they have the picture of the Fallen from the teaser poster, except he has animated fiery eyes... is this how you guys are going to represent the Fallen's flames?

Sure, and you're hitting on all the themes we were mulling over. In terms of resources, the parable in our minds has to do with the fact that the Transformers ultimately devolved into war over an energy source (energon/oil). We tried t bolster this theme by implicitly using the middle east in the opening. I feel that this theme was always implicit in the original cartoon.

The technological theme you bring up is even more interesting to us. Technology can be used for good or evil. In the case of the Decepticons, we purposely made them all military machines in the first movie in the spirit of an old Martin Luther King quote, "Our scientific power has outrun our spiritual power. We have guided missiles and misguided men."

4.) Would love to be able to lie to you, but I can't.

5.) You will get much of what you want here.

    6.) Same as 5.

    7.) Same as 5 and 6!

    8.) Same as 1 AND 2.

I'd love to do something called, THE HIDDEN HISTORY OF THE WORLD, and I'd love it to be 6 hours long.

We are currently trying to get a couple of "serious" dramas going. We'll see.

Hey Bob, just two quick-easy-yes or no questions.

    1. Will any of our favourite Transformers returning from TF1 die in ROTF?
    2. Do you know who is voiceing Soundwave?

Also I just want to say that you've done a wonderful job with ROTF, and tell Alex Kurtzman and Ehren Kruger that they've done a wonderful job too

Bob, this is more of a general Hollywood question.

I've always wondered about this in recent film making. It's a relatively well-known story that in the first Star Wars film, George Lucas received special permission to use his classic serial-style opening without any credits, but he got into trouble with Empire Strikes Back and events eventually led to him pulling out of the guilds.

However, I see major (presumably) guild-backed productions today with similar credit-less openings, such as Transformers. Have the guilds relaxed such a requirement?

You say lame and improbable and I give you GI Joe and Cobra managing to kill Autobots in the G1 and G2 Marvel comic ;)

Hi, Bob. Soooooooooo, just a - small - minor - innocent question that I know you will be happy to answer with a "Yes" or a "No."

Will those of us who love and adore Ratchet have to wear black and bring a box of tissues?

Hey, Bob. With out saying whether or not Megatron will return in ROTF, would movie Soundwave be loyal to him based on the way you portrayed the character?

And also what led you to naming the Chevy Volt "Jolt"? Why not a G1-inspired name?

Probably because it makes sense... the Chevy Volt.... is named Jolt... and Hasbro had the trademark handy. Besides, as this character is new and would appear to have little similarity to a G1 character, why slap on a G1 name that doesn't really fit? Weren't people annoyed when Hasbro did that for the Armada, Energon and Cybertron series (unaware of the reason why Hasbro had to do that)?

Besides, the name Jolt originated from G2, which is part of G1.

Hi bob how does a writer with credit get a script/treatment to a studio to read it. Thanks for your time and energy.

Also they say writing is re-writing how many drafts did you do for tf1 and how many for tf2..

I've never really had a problem with them recycling G1 names in the later incarnations, even if the new character had little in common with their namesake.

I guess my biggest issue with the choice is that it seems as though we're getting a lack of G1-inspired characters in ROTF. I just think they could've easily have called the Volt Tracks, Blurr, or Bluestreak.

Bob, now that Megatron has been seen and mentioned so extensively in concept art, character bios, toy designs and box art, are you now in a position to be able to confirm that he is in the movie? Obviously it wouldn't make much sense to be building hype in this way and putting all of the resources into the development for a character that according to Bay won't be in the movie.

A couple of examples - starscream's bio on the back of his box mentioning him bringing back megatron, and also the clear image of megatron on the rampage on the bumblebee/sam packaging -

and in the missile mania game -
