wooohooo Steel City Con is tomorrow and this year they are throwing a costume day on Sunday! What better a costume to as than none other than the Cobra Commander! I made the costume awhile ago and orignally it had a rag head. I have since upgraded to plate face as can be seen. New additions include a holster that has none other than Megatron in it and yth sized Darth Vader gloves! If anybody sees me there be sure to say hi, but I warn you I will no longer be Shinobi but a ruthless dictator bent on global domination!
that's sweet! i'd love to make one myself. if you dont mind me asking , what did you use for the face plate?
Awesome man I'll be at the steel city con on sat if your there ill definately say hi its nice to find out another radicon is from around my area!
I was thinking of going to the Con... hmm. I don't have any sort of good costume though. Good costume for sure.
*Cough cough cough* Curgh-C-C-Cobraaaa! Not being a Joe Fan, i never understood that scene in the TF Season 3 episode "Only Human". That costume looks great. And yay for keeping it accurate and being able to see through the mask.
Thanks guys! To answer your question about seeing thru the mask: The mask is made from a curved thin plexiglass thatcontors to the width of my head. The plexiglass has been then treated with a 2 way mirrored film meaning I have full range sight but you can't see me!
Damn, if I wasn't getting ready to move on Tuesday I was gonna head up to this. D'oh! Great costume though man.
I always thought it was a sort of tongue-in-cheek type of reference, as well as the whole inclusion of "Old Snake". But perhaps that's too much of a stretch for a children's show. As for the costume, I really like it! No need for coughs here, other than to catch my breath!
Season 3 contained some aged Joe characters because it was 20 years in the future. Old Flint,Crazy Old Snake, and the recurring role of Flint's daughter. The coughs were part of the "Old Cobra Commander" quote. Friggin' sweet costume.
