I've been pestered (in a polite and well-mannered way) for the top secret and closely guarded building instructions of my Lego Transformers since I posted the first batch. And now, I've begun the mammoth task of generating such instructions. See the finished models here: Transformers: Darkest Hour Important Notes: Many of these designs use older style bricks and pieces. There are ways to get round any components you do not have, but I may not have time to got into them. There is a reliance on Lego Technic black friction pins to provide rotary joints. These will need reinforcement otherwise they will not be able to support the model. Either use totally brand new pins or pad them out in some fashion. I'll go into that in more detail later. These models require patience. For starters, instruction updates may well be infrequent. Also, rushing ahead can mean you miss important steps. Not all of these instructions will be clear. For many of the models, I will have to use photographs. Please don't hesitate to ask for clarification. And without further ado, we start at the begining: Starscream The Decepticon Leader in all his glory. Well, he'd like to think so. This model is the first I built and is the basic seeker body for Darkest Hour. Skywarp, wings aside, is simply a colour switch. You can go wild and build this guy in any colour you want and if someone can devise a conehead varient, I'd love to see it. First Steps: First, build the boots. These form the rear half of the jetmode and are composed of several sub units. We start with the right leg. Right boot sub-models: Right boot assembly: Note: The foot and tendon units have bricks place between their pivot-forks The left boot is built, as you might guess, as a mirror image of the above (rudder and tendon models need mirroring as well). Happy building and stay tuned!
Thank You Very Much!!!! At least is a beginning. So far I could only make my own Tfs but with these guide I'll able to make the original characters. In my opinion Technic is the best option when it's time to make a Tf.
This is awesome that you are doing this for us. Thanks! Time to dig out my bricks! I'd love to see instructions for that new duocon model.
Oh wow, Librarian...thank you SO MUCH! I'm not sure which models you're going to attack next, but I really would love to see some instructions for your G1 insecticons. You did a really amazing job capturing them.
Thank you everyone! Upperleg: Putting it all together: You will note that the studs-on-the-outside unit on the inner boot is different from the real model. This is because the actual piece is not a Lego component, but a Megablocks piece. Aaaannnnddddd it should end up a bit like this: Happy building!
Well, it took some time but the left leg and the torso are done. I'm putting the instructions together now, so more updates comming soon! The Left Boot: Sub models: The main model:
