I've finally finished cleaning up my Cliffjumper, and he's ready for repainting. I've mocked up what I generally want to do, but I can't decide if I want to do a side stripe for him or not.

Which looks better to you guys?

I agree. The first one looks much better. I've never really been a fan of Transformers with their name or whatever splattered all over them.

I like the 2nd one. Breaks up all the red, and adds some personality to the vehicle mode.

I think the name on the side looks pretty sweet but it would look fine with just a stripe. How do you plan on putting his name on there?

I like number 2, it breaks up all that red. Not sure about putting his name in there, though.

I'll get a sticker printed or something.

Here's a version with the name removed. Looks a little less designey without the name.

Nice, but I still go with the first one. I don't think the red needs to be broken up that much (it's already broken up due to the black that is already on the first image). Also, the first one looks more "G1", while still being updated a bit.

It's up to you though, man. They all look nice, I just prefer the first one. Do what you feel is good for it.

My aim's to make him look as distinct from 'bee as i can without mucking about too much with extra parts etc. I thought the rally car inspired look would do it, but it seems incomplete without a strip or something on the side.

    Still pondering...

If anything, maybe you could continue what you started you started on the front wheel and add a black stripe above the rear wheels.

I honestly think that all of these look distinct enough from Bumblebee. If I had to choose a second one, I'd say #3 (although I still say #1 is it).

Let us know what you decide to go with, man.

How about losing the black wheel arches and painting the bonnet black along the roof intake. Perhaps a bit more tuner orientated but add some carbon look?

Or even a carbon hood/spoiler (good idea, switchgear).

I thought of that but it reallys strays too far from G1 and unbalances the robot mode. Without the red car hood he'll look like he's wearing big red clown boots.

What if you place those stripes on the hood ? Maybe on the left side 2 black stripes to make some attitude ?

I like the racing stripe on the side - but I would break it up as it moves cross the door - from a solid black line into a series of increasingly thinner lines. I'm not sure how I can best describe what I'm seeing, but somewhere around where you wrote his name out, break the line, but continue it, break it again, and continue it shorter, then break and continue, getting shorter every time. You could also taper it to a point - that might look nice, too.

Man, that looks slick!....I say number two, as all others have said, it gives it some flavor, and breaks up the red a bit. :thumb

Number 1 is nice but plain. It just looks like a generic custom to me. Definitely go with 2 because the name on the side looks nice. 3 wouldn't be a bad choice either, but 2 is the way to go.
