Alright,

My first transformers repaint to go up anywhere.

My first ever transformer repaint was the deluxe Brawl, but that didnt go to well. My third repaint of anything.

Here it is, the Movie Ironhide Voyager with G1 Color influence... hence the red
Also, I saw Ehko's BRILLIANT idea for the head. So I'd like to credit him for that. It's actually the backside of Ironhide's head.

I really tried to take my time with the coats. It REALLY tested my patience. But it was good, whenever i took a break from school work , I'd do a coat on something!

Still working on getting even coats, but thats a challenge! Please feedback are MORE THAN WELCOME!

Good job on yours jake, but the bot mode parts need more red i think. .

 

very accurate, I like it a lot. Not too much red, good balance of color.

 

Sweet bot mode, I am loving that backwards head.

 

Looks cool, its a nice combo of G1 and movie Ironhide.

 

I saw one a while back on eBay that used a bunch of gold for the bot mode. I think it'd go a bit better than the black.

 

Nice work, I like the red, and the blue highlights.

i will be using that. much credit for the idea. thanks to both of you for bringing this to my attention.
i'm actually, myself, in the works of cutting back some of the front (chesplate) panel so that it sits further back. i absolutely can't stand how large his chest is. it's a very cool bot mode but i tend to keep him as a truck most of the time for this very reason...
in fact, i'm not a kitbasher in any sense. any help or suggestions for this would be greatly appreciated

This just proves the point that if the fans dont get what they want... they just tweek with what they got!

I just wish that Hasbro would have given us an Ironhide repaint more like yours instead of the "blue mud-runner" version.

Thanks. Unfortunately it no longer exists due to acrylic paint ruining the whole project so i just stripped off all of the red and made a super accurate movie ironhide.

 

Any chance you could post some pics of your ironhide? I'm going to start repainting mine soon and I'm trying to look for nice movie accurate repaints for reference.

 

Now, if only they made him that way to start.

It chipped off in many areas due to it lacking adhesion like almost all acrylics do. This was an early repaint so i wasn't aware of the limitations of acrylics and since then i have never used them again in the same way.

Because it chipped off in so many areas i had to strip everything down. By that time i was fed up with using red and the whole idea of making a g1 styled ironhide so i just painted him black again (using car paint this time) and added movie accurate detailing which ended up looking better anyway.
