Basically, I like Energon Grimlock. I wanna like Classics Grimlock, but really have issues with the wonky shoulder joints, tail, and forearms. I love the classics head sculpt though, which led to this thingy. My intent was just to test out how it looked, but things got to a point of no return rather quickly. I'm reasonably pleased with the look of the Classics head on the Energon body, and happy to report that it still transforms fine (I was worried it wouldn't fit in the space the squatter Energon head did). I still need to do some work yet, as the E. Head on the Classics body is held on with little more than tape and wishful thinking.
Hey... not bad! I like it! I'm a little torn about Energon Grimlock in general. He had potential, but ultimately, he just has too many flaws for me to be satisfied with him. Basically, I bought him for Swoop. However your head swap makes me almost respect that figure. If only he wasn't such a pipsqueak, there might be hope for him. zmog
man, I'm glad I got the energon dinobots. that pic makes me really think e.grimmy is better than the classics. although I don't like either in dino mode.
I prefer E. Grimlock's bot mode, and C. Grimmy's dino mode. Wish we'd get some more love for the rest of the Dinobots.
I'm a fan myself of E. Grimlock and Swoop for that matter. I like it, but I dont know if the head swap suits the other bodies... still cool though
Now to deal with the nonexsistant waist, the playschool hands, the stumpy looking upper legs, the weak looking hips, the poor mountings for the upper arms, and the cheesy paint job... If I had an energon Grimlock I'd defiantly combine the two...
Meh, I've made my peace with all that stuff. E. Grimmy's the Wolverine of TFs - Squat and beefy, with claws out to tuesday. Only other mod I've made WAY back was popping off the forearms and swapping them, so the sliders are on the underside, and the fists can hold weapons properly.
You know, it's kinda funny looking at these side by side like that and knowing Don did the designs for Both. I told you people when E.Grim was made, it's QC controle. Not Don's Fault!! lol Personally, I just can't justify such a awesome head on such a poorly made figure. I prefer the updated version more. Cool little pics in your posts though. Love the "Christmas" sig. TFM
I think they both have thier benifits... personally I'd put C-Grim's waist and hips on E-grim, along with his upper arms, head, and a set of replacement upper legs. It would take some tweeking to ensure that it still transforms right and a paintjob... but it could very well look awesome. *pokes TFMaster* You up for a challange?
