Hey guys, thought I would share an image of some Alt customs I've been working on. I have made some changes and will continue to do so when I get more pics and finish more, etc. Click the link below to go to the folder in my Photobucket account to WIPs (sorta): "WIP" Alt Customs Enjoy! (and know that I will be working on new images here very soon!) *UPDATE 10-23-07 Due to Thread Bump*[/SIZE][/B] Wow, talk about a time warp! I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this thread bumped today! I have a few finished customs that I'll be posting here soon as well as another massive photo shoot I need to take very soon. I'm a bit beside myself today because I started making customs in December 2004 (I finished my first custom, Alternators Hot Pursuit, in the middle of January). A few things I noticed after reviewing this thread: When this was first posted, Alternators Overcharge, Alternators Springer [version 1; version 2 will be getting started very soon], my Alternators Seekers project [at this point I had just made Alternators Thrust, posted him, and started the design work on the other 6], and Alternators Stakeout were just made. Also, by this point, I was really getting into customs As many of you guys know, since this post, I've made a mob of Alternators and Binal Tech customs (I counted nearly 40 last night). I JUST finished a new project last night (more details later ). I, of course, have many more things in store as well! Just a few things: Version 2 of Springer that I mentioned (I gave the first one to my best friend for Christmas last year because that's his favorite TF character) A black Decepticon RX-8 named "MIDNIGHT" Alternators Slicer (which is specifically why I ordered from Ken because he was making me a red translucent head ) A base of operations D) Also, I've been [slowly] updating my US police force (since I finished my final Japanese Prefecture Police 'bot last week (photos coming soon). I posted http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/showthread.php?t=119829 some time ago where I had you guys vote on which name to go with (Iacon Police won out). I was pretty excited to get a movie Prime and shot some scale photos with my police customs: You can see Interceptor and Stakeout in those photos. If you look closely through the blurry photos, you can see that Interceptor has labels as opposed to when I first posted him. As you can see from the link to Interceptor, it's pretty obvious that he was planned out well before movie Barricade. Honestly, I haven't been too inclined to jump back on my police labels (notably Interceptor) simply due to the unfair comparisons to Barricade. I'll return to them though; I always do. Also, many of you guys know that I am a 2-D illustrator as well. I have a project I'm devoting all of my 2-D energies to right now (e.g. commission), but I do plan to create some artwork and sequentials for my customs. I have worked on a new logo treatment for my work as well (you can see it in my sig too): former logo: updated logo: (sans "Alterations" tag); (with tag): I'm not finished with the logo treatment (I'm going to play around more with my color palette), but you can get the idea. Anyways, thank you for your continued interest in my work; it's always much appreciated
Very sweet Shameless plug ahead... Springer will need a translucent green sword now (once I get them done that is)
That Spring head looks damn nice. What did you do for it? Also, what paint is that on the blue s2000? I like the sheen to it.
I hate that green! But, I like how it came out, so good job. All of them are great, what's the name of Officer Tracks? And who are the ones in the first pic? Great job!
good job! its about time springer started gettin recognition. hmm you just got me thinking evac would make a good cybertron springer.keep up the good work.
It's a metallic blue I mixed just for that custom. I just hate working with metallic paints. It took me FOREVER to get it where I wanted it!
Stakeout I am sure is proud that you introduced him to ambushbug. The blue S2000 is "Overcharge." Thanks for the comments!
Hey, I dunno where you got that Springer head - is that your own custom work? - but it looks REALLY neat on that Mustang.
I can't take credit for the reproing of the Tracks head that I used for Springer. The only two mods I made to it were the sanding of the "vents" on the crest and I had to redo the mouth because of an air bubble. Thanks for the positive feedback!
So the Tracks head fits cleanly onto Grimlock's ball joint? If so, I might be making an order from Reprolabels ASAP...
Sorry about the way my comment came out. I'm not fond of that color green, but it looks great in this context on that character. Again, great job, you need to do a photo shoot of each one so we can good look at each one.
That I don't know about because the nature of this repro I had to drill out the hole for it to fit on the neck.
Oh, I didn't take any offense to it man! This color of green I wouldn't use to often (actually I only bought it to do this custom), but I would agree that it fits. I actually wanted a color a bit closer to the factory color of the 2005 Mustang, but I think the "Boss" labels makes it look authentic enough.
I love that Springer Idea! Tracks' head works really well for him. I also dig that corvette police crusier!
