Well, unless you can cope with the world having moved on since the mid-1980's, in which case it's no "fail" at all. I think it's very likely that Devastator, and combiner technology, works in the new movie as there being one robot mode, with any number of otherwise non-transforming, separate vehicle parts making it. Ok. Doesn't change the awesomeness of the Constructicon toys us oldies played with almost 25 years ago. Each version of TFs takes something from before, and moves on, as you'd expect. It's hard to be put out by that when you're 30. Still, each to their own..

I think assuming one way or another right now is a bit silly.
We have rumors saying it's one way, other rumors saying that the first rumors were wrong and it's a different way. And now we have this guy. Who ,according to the second set of rumors, is supposed to be one of the shoulders, but all we've seen is his vehicle mode and some weird blob-thing.

I'm already expecting a massive fail from every movie product so I cant say that I will be suprised/dissapointed this time around.

I would like it to look like Geewun and I'll bitch and moan about this every opportunity I get and I really dont care who it pisses off and how futile it is. I dont give a crap about this or that continuity, all I know is I grew up with G1 and this is what I want to see on the big screen. Yes, some things couldnt have worked in live action but much of it could have or been changed slightly to make it work. G1 devestator would have absolutely kicked ass on the big screen and no one can deny that, even the geewun haters out there.

True.. I think the world needs to re-witness the sheer awesomeness of the orginial devastator in a CGI/live action movie though.

Ok, that's a better looking head sculpt then what I thought I was seeing in the other pics. That's a pretty cool looking head design, actually.

I wonder how well generally cartoon series movies do in the box office. Cant really think of any that have done especially well. Actually I cant think of many cartoon series turned into movie at all! Pokemon, Simpsons, GI joe maybe someone can help me think of more or one that has done great in the box office. Anyway, I bought the 20th anniversary dvd and I am foolishly entertained everytime I watch it. Theres a bit of a difference though between live action and cartoon movies to the general public I think. Different target audience with the transformers movie back then right? Really no comparison between the new and old movie.

This is only my personal opinion of course. Primes truck mode is spot on, I'm just not fond of the design of the movie bots, thats all. Maybe I drink too much but I cant really even picture the faces exactly from everyone in the movie. Primes is not bad but most are so random/outrageous that it's hard to picture them, that's no fun. Am I wrong here? What I would really like is a masterpiece prime style robot that transforms into the movie prime truck. I think this would make a nice piece.

No silver squared background. Not a rubsign.

Why would the sequel to the Bionicles have Power Ranger villains? ;)

My parents had one almost exactly like that when I was a kid! Trust me, that mistransformed mess is a true beauty compared to some of the things that mattress has seen. :puke:

    Exactly.

Sure, they're gonna drop the ball on the name now that they're actually using the character due to a subtitle only a few hundred people, maybe, remember? Heh...

Wrong. Ironhide was originally red. His toy mold just happened to be licensed from an otherwise non-related toy, the original version of which was black.

Yeah, it's almost a given! And I'd prefer a G1 repaint to a movieverse version(no matter how cool or not it looks). But I'll prolly end up with both. The movie accurate version should come first and my resistance will be low!

Cool! That's the same website I go to whenever I think something's gonna suck based on speculation and a severely mistransformed toy being tossed onto a filthy mattress!

I dunno. To me, it looks like that head is better proportioned to this one toy than to something larger this one toy is part of. (I hope that makes sense...)

And the gorilla thing...upper body strength like a gorilla =/= looks like a gorilla. BTW, outside of cartoons, I have a hard time imagining a robot this large being anything but clumsy.

First- if you expect to be disappointed then you won't be. Everything will live up to your preconceived expectations.

Yes, I grew up on G1 too. And it's my personal favorite series of Transformers. But for live action- just for the sake of realism- I'd rather see a multi-coloured group of construction vehicles than a red tank or brown space shuttle.

But I do agree with you- G1 can be tweaked a bit and make for a great live action movie! But that's not what we're getting. And, in my opinion, what we are getting should be judged on its own merits. Saying "it's not G1" doesn't exactly mean it sucks. (Especially an unfair criticism considering it is not intended to be G1 in the first place.)

    Also...

QFT! Hasbro are a company. A business! They're clearly making some smart moves on that end with the movieverse. (But they're also giving G1 fans plenty of cool stuff as well...)

Specifically MP Prime is difficult to do into a real truck because the G1 Prime cartoon design morphed into a truck rather than transforming, which is why MP Prime is kind of a mess in vehicle mode. It's a robot torso and legs on wheels rather than an approximation of a cab-over truck.

I'd like to see an MP-style Laser Rod Prime :)

Interesting looking toy, and this is obviously one of the Non-Combining Constructicons

And on another note... "QUIT THE BITCHING PEOPLE" that's not what this place is for.

I remember something about the consructicons being a mix of red, orange and green vehicles.
