Hopefully, nothing I've said is being taken as "whining." If it is, I need to be more careful how I communicate.

That said, I repeat my surprise (perhaps I expressed it on another board) that the price (which *is* a BBTS price, and that does tend to mean higher than average) is so close to what we paid for the club exclusive Seacons. If nothing else, perhaps this will cause folks to think more kindly of the club, though.

Are you serious? Devastator's had G1, G2, and countless KOs. There's probably more of him than any other G1 combiner.

What I posted wasn't directed at any one person, so don't take it personally. It's just a general observation that people always want G1 reissues, but when they have to pay more than what it cost in the 80s they bitch.

95.00 is a decent price point for these guys in my mind and most others. Giving the exchange rate plus the mark-up/exporting fee for BBTS do i agree they could be cheaper... yes , but then look at Omega, Metroplex, and the Sky Lynx let us that want them first pay the $100 and then around xmas pick-up the scraps at 30 or 40% off.

No need to wine or bitch just be happy and support that encore is continuing to give us G1 goodness. Next time it could be the Stunticons, Computron, or even some more bases looks like nothing is impossible with this line.

I'm sure a healthy debate could be had on what constitutes a "fair" price. On one hand, what cost $30 then (wasn't that the MSRP of a combiner set back in the '80s?) shouldn't cost $30 today, simply due to inflation. Of course, that's not the only factor at play. Toy-tech has improved leaps and bounds, and a $30 toy today is considerably better in some fairly tangible ways (I always maintain that "better" is still a word of opinion, not fact, but I think you'll get what I'm trying to say) than a $30 toy of the '80s was, so that, in theory, would push the inflation-adjusted price down a bit. And, of course, the amount of a toy's cost that goes to development and design was already paid for way back then. You wouldn't have to pay those expenses again.

But we haven't yet talked actual materials, and die-cast, in particular, is quite expensive. I don't know how die-cast costs today, compared to '80s dollars, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if it's gone up.

Of course, we also don't know if this reissue of the Combaticons will have die-cast, but it's certainly not an unreasonable assumption.

You really can't speak to "most." I'll grant "many."

The price is rather accurate I think. This isn't a release that will be in every target and walmart, so we can't really expect the same price as RID. It's a little less than what loose ones on ebay cost, and this will be mint, likely with some extra goodie.

Bruticus is my favorite g1 combiner, and I'm still disappointed. He has been over done. I'd prefer superion or defensor.

This is some interesting news. I know alot of us fans were wanting Takara to release a reissue of one or more of the combiners. Given the fact that we know they have the Bruticus mold this isn't too suprising. Here's to hoping that Defensor makes it out too!

This is cool news for me, I always regretted giving away my G1's so long ago. The price is not the greatest, but this is an expensive hobby. Having said that though, BBTS is having a clearance sale, and wouldn't you know it, Encore Skylinx is now only $44 and I got a reissue Metroplex for my Bro-in-law for $60ish before Christmas from TFSource, so i'm really on the fence about buying now or waiting till later, as those who passed on reissue Predaking (I did not:dunce ) will lament about. It would be awesome if the other gestalts came out, and that hope keeps me from buying any vintage ones, as in the case of our friend Bruticus here. I only broke down for Devy because I was able to offload some crappy movie leaders for him. I am also holding off on getting Trypticon, although there are some for great prices in the sales threads, on this same hope. On the subject of the TFCC Seacons, I didn't notice any degradation, but I also don't have a vintage set so, so much for my opinion right:lol ? I sincerely hope that TakaraTomy has their feelers out in these threads so we can get what we are really wanting, but like so many others have stated, it just may not be feasible, so I will be happy with what I get and pleasantly surprised when something like Encore 16 comes along.

I'm suprised to read more sticker shock about a $100 Bruticus than I saw about the $50 cassette set. Actually, I'm reminded of Predaking, when the people who waited missed out and paid more later.

Once we see this in box, and see preorders elsewhere, I expect to hear a different tune.

I guess there's a chance it'll have the original Takara launcher in Onslaught's flatbed then, along with the diecast? Thar's definitely be worthwhile.

    Well Said!

To all those complaining, a vintage used gift set will cost at least 200$. A brand new gift set for 94$ it's a very good price.

I might get this, since I was considering getting G1 Bruticus but they were too expensive...

I was about to mention this...
Anyways to all those complaining about already owning this mold, I have a few questions.

How many of you have a gift set version?
How many of you have a die-cast version?
How many of you have the Japanese exclusive Onslaught with the launching mechanism?

I really doubt there's that much people that will answer "I do" to all three questions. However, I know some collectors don't care about mold variations and yes we still don't now the version we'll have.
