I have had one crazy lucky week. I was in Walmart, I figured I'd check the isle for any 25th Anniversary Transformers...low and behold lying in a valley of Voyagers is one lone Blowtorch. A little aside, but Walmart's Toy Isle is a joke, they literally can't sell a thing.
yesterday I was at a Goodwill and got that Target ultimate battle pack for $9.99 with a 25% off sale on all toys, only paid $7.50. But there is a downside, all the original figures (except Destro) were replaced with others, the Pod and CC, paper work, stickers, weapons and stands werent included. I could care less about the figures but I really wanted those stickers. Im guessing the person that returend it to Target swaped out the orignal figures and kept the Pod/CC and all the paper work. Target had no choice but to donate it to the Goodwill. Still not bad deal for $7.50
That's becoming way too common. I've seen more then my share of DVD pack switcharoos. Some of the swaps are REALLY obvious too. I've seen Iron Grenadiers swapped out for 20 year old figures. I've even seen people just outright stealing the Mass Devices. This dates back to the first Cobra/Joe box-sets were people were swapping out Snake Eyes for the carded one.
lol so i found every figure last night except wraith! Dont worry Canadian brethren, the shipping cost would not be worth it but thankyou very much anyways. So Im totally caught up except for wraith, which is my most anticipated figure from the line. Reminds me of the Frogs from MGS4. Which were awesome. Oh well ill watch HTS like a hawk, but if anyone stateside gets an extra one ill gladly pay cost and shipping plus a lil extra for your time and effort.
Sometimes I see the Armadillo alone without the Chariot the rest of the figures. These stores need to be more careful when processing returns.
Well one of the targets I went too, I managed to find Mutt and Junkyard and Croc Master...so far Target has had the figures I've wanted they even had like 12+ of the Ultimate Battle Pack and they had a few dozen Conquests. I still see those DVD Battle packs...I'd only get them for the DVD....haven't seen any of the newer ones YET. My local Wal-Mart had 2 SHARK TOOTH vehicles but man those packages were beat up pretty good like they were damaged during shipping.
Grabbed a Resolute Cobra Trooper tonight at Target after NOT finding the Battle Pack again and it's way cooler in person than I thought it was going to be from the pics. I got to tell you Rohnert Park Target is the lamest Target around. Santa Rosa and Novato stores are always better stocked. Just in case you where wondering.
They don't have the enhancements of the Rhino versions so it basically looks and sounds just like it did in the 80's, I really enjoyed them. Still a great deal IMO.
TRU has a 2 day sale on Officer Packs, after tax it's only 9.63. I only wanted Skyduster (STARDUSTER DAMNIT), so I got the Air Pack. Ace and Wild Bill aren't bad actually, and I didn't have Bill. I couldn't get into the Sea Pack, Cutter is so half-assed.
Whipped up myself a Cutter today. I pretty much took Bionic Commando's idea and ran with it. He looks way better than the TRU one IMO. I used the extra head from the Beachead/Mainframe Comic pack The main figure is a carded Shipwreck with Gung Ho arms, and the vest and hook from the Shipwreck/Copperhead 2 pk. The hat is removable, and from a small baseball figure, I painted it blue, and printed out the red B sox logo for his hat. he needs minor touch ups in the face, might redo the "B" on his hat, as it is a tad off to me, otherwise he is done.
That is absolutely better then the Sea Pack Cutter, but the green arm-bands look off, wouldn't Tiger Flint's work better?
Dude you're Cobra Edge can fight my G.I. Joe Stone Cold I also plan to get Razor Ramon when he comes out.
Yeah, gonna go over those with black. Thanks I do have a Cobra Flint I don't need, might see how that looks. I just want him to have a watch, don't care for the bands.
