    Don't give Derrick all the credit.
    Thank Eric Siebenaler and the rest of the guys at hasbro and takaratomy for making the designs translate to plastic so well, and Irineo Maramba is also starting to design some of the characters.

    Unless there was some amnesia/memory incident then I doubt Jazz and Prowl have met before the episode "The Elite Guard".

    Although I guess they could have been trained hundreds of years apart, and their sensei just didn't mention the other.

    IDK I kinda hated how everyone looked the same with different clothing and hair.

    Like Barbie dolls you see, the same skeleton for everybody.

    It was a real pleasure working with Derrick for the interview. It took about two months from start to finish, with writing up questions, researching his work, talking to him on a semi-regular basis, getting updates on things, suggestions on images, etc.

    I had no idea he was going to spend his time right before Thanksgiving to draw up an Animated Kickback. That is AWESOME and I have the large, un-watermarked files saved as a little momento :) 

    I can honestly say, having met and spent a lot of time with Eric Siebenaler (lead Animated designer from Hasbro) and having spent a lot of time talking with Derrick Wyatt (character designer, art director for Cartoon Network) that we have, literally, two of the BEST PEOPLE POSSIBLE in charge of Animated.

    But you can't leave out Marty Isenburg, Vickie (Hasbro), Billy (Hasbro), and all the others that put time and effort in to the Animated series (the Cartoon Network designers that were listed in the interview).

    And of course, the guy with the green light power, Papa Bear Archer :) 

    Glad you guys liked the interview. I tried to ask questions that were open-ended, not yes/no questions, and worded questions that we could get real answers to. Not things like, "Will Shockwave be a regular character in Season 3?" ... that's boring. That's a typical "You'll have to wait and see" answer that does nothing but waste the time of the interviewer and interviewee.

    Kudos to some of our staff that also came up with great questions :)

    Also, don't forget when we first heard the leaked rumors about Blackout and Spittor, the guy said Blackout transforms into a huge beetle and Spittor into a frog... so could be at a later point in the season, they end up on Earth and BA somehow makes them semi-organic.

    I guess if she can't cure herself, she'll make others to be like her... starting the Predacon army? :) 

    Man, Wyatt seems such a great fan - he knows a lot about TFs, from G1 comics to japanese cartoons - it's good that the animation of the new show is in such good hands!

    I think you misunderstood s250 about Blackout.
    He said Blackout looked like a Beetle. Not that he transformed into one.
    And he certainly does look like a beetle in robot mode.


    And for Spittor. We've only seen his cybertronian mode. Which is a walking tank thing (METAL GEAR?!) that sort of looks like a frog. We don't know if he's going to get an Earth mode.

    Great interview! Mr. Wyatt seems like a very nice guy (also, uberTransformersgeek!). Would definitely love to read more of these kinds of interviews!
