I would have baked the cake, but then made a genuine mistake with the ratios/ingredients so it would give anyone who ate it the shits for a week.

The problem here is most Nazis genuinely thought what they were doing was right. A lot of people bought into the whole idea of Fascism/Nazis because of the economic situation they found themselves in after WW1.

Because of the whole worldwide economic situation right now, it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of good intentioned folk side with right wing sentiments, just because of the current situation.

    Vigilance.

    Well said.

I strongly agree that the name alone is child abuse. Society will always outcast these kids and the parents have given them every tool to fail, and if they are somehow smart and savvy enough to overcome it and tell their parents to go to hell and legally change their names when they turn 16, they have a chance. Otherwise, they will be living in a trailer park in Idaho spray painting swazikis everywhere and will have no chance at becoming a productive member of society.

So, there are no good intentioned right wing folks? Maybe you should think a little bit more before you post? Also, Hitler may have considered right wing, but he was pretty neo-liberal. Big government, etc. Right Wing/Conservatism has absoluetly NOTHING to do with Hitler coming into power...please explain your statement...

Seriously. Even the local news played it of like the people were innocent bystanders. They gave their kids horrible names on purpose then asked for a cake with the kids full name just to drive it home. I have two kids and have NEVER seen a cake with more than a first name on it. Please.

I would like to see a story totally shooting these assholes down.

To prevent these kids from being brain washed hate mongers. Because that's what parents like these will do.

Are you sure about that? It would be very easy for these kids to be homeschooled, where they would be slowly brainwashed with crooked perspectives on how the world worked and works. If these parents can actually deny the Holocaust there's no telling what lies they'll pass on to their children. Incidentally, this is also a reason for child services to intervene.

They're not "suprised" by this, they fully expected it to happen and will milk every moment of it for all it's worth. They'll use this to make everyone else look evil and ignorant while making themselves out to be the victims. They may be callous, despicable cretins, but they know how to spin PR in their favor. Which makes them even more dangerous as racists.

This name, along with the names of their two other children, were chosen to specifically insight negative emotions and attention from people. They can, will and are using this to turn public attention onto their beliefs and their way of life and make them look like they're not as bad as they really are. They'll twist the truth and perspective to make them seem like the victims and appear to be the ones being discriminated. And they're going to use the negative attention they get and the negative reactions their children get to show their kids that the world is evil and that the only ones who they should care about are those who think like them. These kids were sacrificed to their "nation" the moment they were given those names.

The news media would never do that because they can get more ratings when they go against the "man" and root for the underdog. It's not a matter of reporting the facts or explaining the story in a completely fair and balanced sense, it's about selling the most of their product.

i think that this issue goes way beyond cakes. the parents were obviously looking for some negative attention when giving names like that to their children.

the parents are worthless bums who mooch off the government for a living then turn it around and spread their hatred. i say the kids should be removed from that home. nothing good can come from that sort of life. i'm sure that there can be some sort of mental abuse case against the children made out of this.

I just hope the kids get taken away from these jackass's and I am glad that Shoprite refused to put the name on a cake. If you are ignorant enough to give your kids the names they did then sould not get any respect from anyone.

What does them bing from Pa. have to do with this. You make it sound like everyone in Pa. is like them.

The cake should not have been denied in my opinion. That's the little kid's actual name. Shoprite refusing to prepare the cake isn't changing/helping/promoting anything that happened in the past, they are just preventing a little boy from getting a cake with his name on it for his birthday. What next? Just about anything can be offensive. I guess they would refuse someone who wanted Merry Christmas spelled out on a cake since that offends a lot of people these days too.

Why does everyone want these kids to get taken away from their family? Just because a parent gives their kids bad names, doesnt mean they are bad parents. It's nice everyone here is so against a 3 year old having a birthday cake.

So encouraging your kids to be racists and bigots is a good thing?

I didnt read anything in the article that said the parents were encouraging their kids to be racists. I read they wanted their kid's name on a cake and the store would not give it to them because they didn't approve of the name. If anyone was being intolerant, it was Shoprite.
