We've gotten scourge repaints in the form of Nemesis prime every time you turn around for years...

Hasbro has to make things they think will sell... Sky-Byte doesn't fall into that category.... I mean a Haiku spouting shark?

Sounds like fodder for the Yiffing crowd!

Actually, they can use the word "death" and the like. After all, they put out SuperHero Squad Deadpool. They just can't use a name that could be seen offensive to a group of people (ie: Slag, The Mandarin, Holocaust all being renamed Snarl, Zhang Tong, and Nemesis).

Nemesis Prime is NOT the same thing as Scourge, at least to me anyways. Also, I was just giving to random examples, they could give us pretty much any RID homage and I'd be happy. I just think that if Armada can get a new mold homage, that RID should be able to get the same treatment.

But most Armada molds were inferior to RiD's new molds, and the reused molds have been homaged (at least regarding to the original use), so IMO it makes more sense to have another take at say Armada Hot Shot over Sideburn.

Unless you're thinking about modernized Spychangers or Flipchangers. :p

    Edit: Nvm, not worth it.

Good point, good point. Most of Armada's molds were pretty bad. I just want to see what they can do now with some of the RID designs.

Some modernized Spychangers would be interesting. Some of them done up as Deluxe class figures would be awesome, though Scout class or even Legends class figures would do well enough.

I'm a tiny bit surprised Victory Saber and Deszaras as listed as "G1 Series" on the package, even though that's technically what they are. Something like "Victory Series", "G1 Japan Series", or something like that seems more appropriate somehow, and might give a little info since anyone who isn't a semi-hardcore fan would have no idea who those characters are.

Considering most non-fans look at toys and go

    - "That boombox from the old cartoon should have been in the movie. Soundbyte, that was his name."
    - "Autobot Roadbuster? Man, they aren't even TRYING with these names anymore!"

or other such things, I don't think the non-identity will matter. Heck, most parents I've like buying robot heroes because they're small, cute, and their kid won't lose the pieces like the bigger transformers.

If they have "G1 series" on the packaging, the average buyer will see that and think that even though they don't know either character that they should buy them to complete their G1 series collection.

And if they had "Victory series" or "G1 Japan series" then the average buyer will see them as different from the "G1 series" they are currently collecting and have no inclination to buy them as they don't collect "Victory series"/"G1 Japan series".

I suppose that makes sense. It's equally as arbitrary as anything I said. :)
